Haha, bowled so many good deliveries and his first wicket is a strangle down legside.

At least we finally end that saga.

Now to see if Woakes can bat well for a bit and help us get a 200+ lead.

Joe Root's backlift and follow through are not ordinary. He plays the ball very late and rushes it just a bit.
The advantages of playing the ball late are obvious - but the disadvantages of slightly rushing the execution is that if he gets out of form he will not travel well.
Already not travelling well - averages 58 at home and 28 away. I actually don't think this summer has done all that much for his development, for that he needs to make runs on tour.

This summer has helped him finally find a place in the side. Might be a good thing for him to go on a tour knowing he will bat at 5 and not be shuffled around.

Can't be too annoyed with the prospect of bowling shortly after lunch. More pissed off at what that's done to Buttler's average

Indian think tank atm: "OMG what a great slower ball, he'd be a great addition to our ODI squad"

nek minnit, Pankaj ends his next ODI with figures of 7-0-69-0 and is dropped forever from the test side

Pankaj

Can he end with a 4-fer?

Also, if Kohli and Pujara come out really determined to right their series so far, India could post up 400 in the third innings. Pitch still is pretty good. Vijay still has it in him to play a good opening knock, Pujara and Kohli with a point to prove, Rahane in killer form, MSD and Ashwin battling out some runs...even with Gambhir and Jadeja as walking wickets there is still the ability to score enough runs in this Indian side. It's not like 2011 when you couldn't see where the runs would come from apart from Dravid.

So still reason to hope.
