Lords was a terrible collapse.Great day for England, really seem to have turned a corner since Lords. Probably Dhoni's best test innings outside the subcontinent (his near ton vs Steyn and co in Centurion close). He has real limitations as a batsman in this format but he clearly tries his level best.
Too early to be saying game over and all that (and certainly not series because there's a match to go and it's 1-1 FFS!). If India in the next innings match whatever England get in their first innings then it'll still be a good game. England haven't horribly collapsed as yet in this series and there's always an English special at least once in a series. India have had theirs. There's rain forecast but unless 2 whole days get washed out we'll have a result (and cricinfo suggests there's a high probability of rain on days 2,4 and 5!).
Yup. Some of is will recall the SL game at Leeds when we didn't build the sort of lead that we should've, bowled poorly in the 2nd innings and their captain batted out of his skin to set up a win for his side. Both sets of players will certainly remember that match. We haven't actually taken a lead yet and our most consistent bat of the summer has just got out. If we get less than 260 anything can happen, and that's still the best part of two sessions away. There's no doubt England are in the driving seat but the murmur of game over seems very much unwarranted
Two of them IIRC. The first four and the last 5 both went in no time.Lords was a terrible collapse.
It was fast with decent carry. The odd one died in the pitch and kept low. But it was the movement in the air that did for most batsman.Been at work and football training so just got in - what are peoples opinions on how the pitch played? Reports seem to indicate its a bit quicker than any this summer so far, which is a good thing imo.
Anderson's average has only been below 30 at the very start of his career (2003) or during the 2013 home Ashes. Broad's has never been.I'm pretty sure both their career averages have not been below 30, for the past 5 years or longer.
Edit: anyone bored enough to properly sort this out?
Yeah I think Broad has edged it a few times, but then gone back.Anderson's average has only been below 30 at the very start of his career (2003) or during the 2013 home Ashes. Broad's has never been.
Both of them definitely dipped below 30 in 2012. It might have been in the middle of a match against the Windies where they picked up early wickets.Anderson's average has only been below 30 at the very start of his career (2003) or during the 2013 home Ashes. Broad's has never been.
Yeah probably only in the match though which doesn't really countBoth of them definitely dipped below 30 in 2012. It might have been in the middle of a match against the Windies where they picked up early wickets.
Never thought it would happen tbh. Wonder if he'll retire with it there.Anderson's average finally ticks under 30. Wonder if it'll stay there this time.
Get this ****. Chowing down on take away food when he can't even buy a bloke a steak.Yeah I'm on my second serve too. Mine's lamb. Yours?
