Hopefully this pitch doesn't flatten out too much. Could get extremely ugly for us.
They were pretty magnificent on day 4 at Lord's v NZ as well. This is the best bowling I've seen from England since possibly day 1 Trent Bridge 2011.
There was the slight bit of doubt in that the pitches in the SA series weren't exactly classic fast bouncy SA pitchesStill a bit premature to judge Pujara that harshly. The guy was awesome in South Africa, failed in two tests in new Zealand and has had a couple of ordinary dismissals here. Played ok in the first two tests but the fact that he wasn't able to cash in has affected him a bit mentally imo.
There's not enough seam movement for it to "flatten". It'll swing all day, it seems, and bounce doesn't exactly go away.Hopefully this pitch doesn't flatten out too much. Could get extremely ugly for us.
There's a big luck element too. Dhoni seems to have taken the top six's entire quota for play+misses today. The only difference between that bowling and this is that they were up against Dravid and Laxman, who was able to play late, leave well and survive (only just). Kohli and Pujara aren't as good as they are yet, and hence they were exposed. And Gambhir is Gambhir.
Broad and Anderson should be dropped for this effort IMO.Why won't England bowlers bowl at the stumps ffs!
Are you new to CW or something? It's always the wayFMD this is just top line bowling. Sure India haven't played it magnificently but if this bowling isn't appreciated and instead its lolndia talk all day, it will be disappointing. England deserve full credit.
Sure but that's a given. There's a big luck element too. Dhoni seems to have taken the top six's entire quota for play+misses today.
Dare I say India are lucky to have lost only 4?FMD this is just top line bowling. Sure India haven't played it magnificently but if this bowling isn't appreciated and instead its lolndia talk all day, it will be disappointing. England deserve full credit.
Bounce definitely can. It's the carry that has caused most of the problems. There's not enough seam movement for it to "flatten". It'll swing all day, it seems, and bounce doesn't exactly go away.

Yeah fair enough, maybe not. It's still South Africa though. No one pointed out that the pitches were dead ****heaps when Sanga corrected his England record this time around, did they? There was the slight bit of doubt in that the pitches in the SA series weren't exactly classic fast bouncy SA pitches
Agreed!Broad has swung it but it's really the bounce which is giving batsman problems from his end.
That Dhoni will always be the jammiest **** going? Can't disagree.Sure but that's a given.
make up your mind ****There's not enough seam movement for it to "flatten". It'll swing all day, it seems, and bounce doesn't exactly go away.
