Stop acting like Woakes has bowled miles worse than Plunkett. He bowled some excellent balls and was unlucky not to pick up a wicket. Jordan shouldn't have come in for him though.
Aiming it at Jordan as Woakes is more of a replacement for Stokes so is the 4th bowler and he has done ok without looking that threatening. Not bowled pies though.

Crikey you don't half jump in on stuff. You need to learn to not have such a short fuse.

This is a great example of a significant team innings in which no one really scored any runs. Usually the sign of excellent batting conditions squandered.

Fair comment.

India are in a better position atm than the commentators are making it seem. I'm surprisingly not as worried considering how many overs Anderson has bowled, and Broad looks to have some issues with his legs. Following on would be ideal for India if anything.

Follow on won't be enforced. We will hire the Lord's groundsman to gouge the pitch and bat for a 400+ target. Give the bowlers a break.

Yea India would prefer to follow on and attempt a 4th innings defence like Lords, fairly certain England won't enforce if they could. In which case India will have to fight for a draw.

I would prefer a 368 to a 371, yes, but not to a 420.

I would back India to draw the game if they have to play out 4 sessions given that England's main bowlers are tired and their others don't look too threatening. Moeen was gifted a few wickets as well so it would be have to be a seriously good bowling performance by England to bowl India out in those 4 sessions. Key is to still be batting tommorow for India.

Only way England can possibly lose is by enforcing the follow on and I don't believe it enhances their chances of winning. Therefore you bat again in my opinion.

Absolutely no exaggeration but Bhuvi has a better defensive technique + knowledge of his off stump than Dhoni.

England can lose by giving India 450 to chase and they chase it - which is perfectly possible, and merely the threat of a victory will put England on the back foot. Enforcing the follow-on makes it easier to win because you don't lose time and overs trying to gauge the declaration. In a marginal case England will know what they have to chase and can pace it accordingly. There's always a chance of losing play due to the weather in the UK regardless of the forecast.

England have 5 bowlers sharing the load, either way they will bowl a load of overs.

Perfectly possible? Yes, but percentage wise thats in the single figures. With Broad hobbling and Jimmy bowled 24 overs already a rest will do them good.

But not all 5 bowlers are equally likely to take wickets, and a rest might be more beneficial surely? I don't think England will be too worried about an Indian run chase unless its a realistic target.

They'll have a rest overnight. Single figures but you pretty much won't lose by enforcing the follow-on unless you collapse horrendously chasing 200 in 40 overs or some such and have the carrot of winning to keep the aggression going. England need to go all out for the win. Mind England again probably aren't going to bowl 90 overs in a day - obviously haven't learnt from the Sri Lanka match.

If it's not a realistic target you're going to lose 15-20 overs out of the game.
