India badly need a solid opening stand. Let Jaffer and Dravid click and we have a great fight on our hands.

^You obviously haven't seen him bowl recently. In the ODI series against Australia he was bowling in the mid 130s with his regular bowling and only slowed it down to bowl cutters.
Bracken gets it up to the high 130s in ODIs but drops it back when forced to bowl more than 10 overs a day

Pathan is not that quick (nor effective) and has done nothing of late to suggest he'll be as much of a threat in this series as he was on debut in 2003

Bracken is easily one of the best Odi bowlers in the world atm he varies his pace well and has got so many variations up his sleeve though he never gets the same kind of attention that he deserves but he has been rated pretty highly by all the posters on CW since his return to international cricket, Bracks is easily a far far better bowler compared to Pathan and i dare say if given a chance now Bracken would do well in the longer format of the game too.

Really believe it'll be a close series. Am not too worried about our batting, which is more than capable, but our bowling attack worries me. Lee has re-invented himself, but I remember the past series way too well. Clark is starting to show signs of mediocrity. Johnson has not been impressive at State Level this year and not great in his first Tests. And then I can see Hogg or Tait being smacked around. A lot.

But then, I probs thought the same when Sri Lanka came. GO Australia! :)

Well, its 12.15 here in NZ and I have been gaming BF2 since 5.00. Eyes are blurry and tired.

Time to sleep until 11 tomorrow, get up, make some breaky and then settle on the couch for the morning session of the Boxing Day test. So excited! I hope India bat.

If they do bat, and ST scores some good runs, it will be a good boxing day! :)

I'm not just basing it on those two Tests though. He's been sublime in some matches and devo in the nets, but he's also had a few poor games. Hoping we get the awesome Clark. :)

If the tracks are as flat as they were during SL vs AUS series, then we are in for some big scoring matches and draws. Sumewhere in the series, one bowler will go wild and may win their side a test match. 1-1 is my prediction.

C'mon India show the world, please, please, please. This series means so much to me, with all the criticism I've gotten and all the "You're ****in insane" comments, many people even thought I took my "optimism" too far this time, little do they know that I am being utterly realistic IMO. Will probably go yelling in the streets of downtown Toronto once I am proven right . C'mon India show these Aussies what we're made of. And they'll remember for years, decades to come, that TIME THEY PLAYED THE INDIANS.

Wont happen - belting down with rain in Sydney and Melbourne, Adelaide is Adelaide and Perth will be quick

Lock in the the last for Oz, assume a draw for Adelaide and it really depends on how the others shape up

In 2003, Pathan was a far superior bowler to what he is today - bowled in the early 140s
No he didn't. Pathan's fastest ball in test cricket was 88 mph which was recorded at Chennai v Australia in 2004.

On that Australia tour in 2003 he never clocked more than 139 km/hr which was in a ODI btw.

I think Australia are going to go into the match with 4 quick’s and use Clarke as the spinner if needed. They said the curator had put a fair bit of water on the wicket in the hope the last couple of days would be clear like the forecast said but it has been pretty mild.

Hope Indian batsmen are aware of the fact that Akmal is not standing behind the stumps and Brett Lee is not going to take a break after a 3 over spell:unsure:
