yer ok thats your opinion and i respect that i am just saying that i think agarkar is a better bowler, if zaheer khan bolwed aswell as he stairs after he hits the fence of the bat he may be a good bowler

I've heard Cameron White is more an Anil Kumble style leggie than an orthodox leg spinner.
I'm looking foward to see him bowl this weekend.


But yes I agree...that there aren't quality finger spinners in the country, perhaps why Australia struggle against them when they go to the subcontinent.
NSW are unlikely to take Hauritz, given their preference for McGlll and Liam Zammit.
WA certainly won't; not with Hogg and Casson in the squad.
Tas have Doherty, Tubb and Marsh so they probably won't be interested.

Yeah Nathan's best bets are probably SA and Vic. Who's bowling spin for these states now ?

N.S.W. tried to poach Hauritz at the end of last season. The season before the tried to poach Maher and offered him the captaincy.

Hauritz is a fine bowler, he bowled extremely well tonight, however I don't think he will be ever picked for Australia as the main spinner, only as the second spinner as a back up for either Warne or MacGill. Australia have been blessed with two quality leggies in Warne & MacGill and will not want to go back (like having a keeper like Gilchrist), Leggie forever in the near future, which is why White is in a good position. However I could see White and Hauritz playing alongside each other in the future especially if White becomes a quality allrounder.

Congratulations to India, the win in Adelaide was very well deserved. Agarkar just seemed to bowl out of his skin in our second innings, and Dravid, well, I think his work played a large contribution towards their win.

The series is now very much alive, and we are in danger of losing our first home series in 11 years.

I think that we will bounce back in Melbourne, as this loss will hit us hard, but come Sydney, it's anybody's...

This is the kind of series that I have been looking forward to here in Australia for a while... one that is going to go down to the wire.

If the Indians win the series, they will not be the number 1 side in the world, but they will have beaten the number 1 side at home, something that happens few and far between.

But with the ICC rankings, well, they may very well be the number 1 side in the world after this, who knows!

Don't know about the ICC random number generator, but I know the CW rankings will result ina massive boost for India and also to all the sides who have won at home to India of late - NZ's 2-0 will be boosted plenty.

As far as I know, during Kapil's time, England was a better (and best)team than Australia( though they won the 87 world cup beating England) in both onedayers and test, along with Pakistan. Kapil's India beat England 2-0 in England, in 3 match series(it would have been 3-0, if the rain & badlight hadn't affected te last day).This is the latest Indian overseas series victory.

England might have been better than Aus at that time BUT the best team at that time was West Indies and India never defeated WI in WI at that time!

By that logic, all ranking systems are flawed.

Any system will involve giving teams points gained at false values against sides that weren't as good before as they were now or vice versa.

You'll never get a statistically perfect system, but I maintain that mine makes the best of a tricky job.

I disagree about Zaheer.

In Zaheer took 50 test wickets at an average of 28 -- not outstanding but certainly very respectable.

Zaheer was certainly lacklustre against NZ -- don't know why.
But he has worked hard with Bruce Reid since and I was pretty impressed with what I saw of him at the Gabba. He seems to have corrected a couple of flaws in his action noticeable in the TVS Cup.

If he continues in that vein, he could certainly be a huge threat to the Aussies at Melbourne and Sydney.

and i am so sick of hearing that the tied has changed and australia's bubbe is about to burst, so what we lost ONE test. its only the 2nd test we have lost at home in 5 years, good teams do loose, and even better teams bounce back, give us our proper bowling attack and i dare say u will see a different result.

Simple - Australia don't use them. If they can make a living outside of Australia in their career of choice, good luck to them.

So Australia do utilise some Indian expertise...

How do u think Zaheer got 5 wickets only becaudse of BR's help? This is his third successive 5 wicket- haul on foreign wicket.
Bruce Reid was not there when he took those two 5 wicket against NZ. He became the highest wicket taker for India in WC2003, without BR"s help.
I watched the full match(first Test) and I didn't find any new delivery from him.The ball that comes in , he used on many occasions earlier. He still continues to hit the deck hard than swing.

I should add something more to that. It's not BR, but Dennis Lilley made the bowler in Zaheer(in MRF pace foundation). So credit goes to Another aussie, but not to Ried yet.

Sandy Gordan's presence can be easily understood by the Indian team's performnace(otherwise ,it 'd have been 2-0 in aus favour).
The pitches made for NZ tour in India, were really impotent... all expected turning wickets; but still it's a mystery y they didn't make it like that. Even then Zaheer had some success, got a 4 wicket haul in one test.
I think, the good word about BR is just a formality only(see, Nehra didn't improve).
Indians should thank Mr.Gentleman John Wright. He sure is a good asset of the Indian team. He got the influence in all the players.
