N.S.W. tried to poach Hauritz at the end of last season. The season before the tried to poach Maher and offered him the captaincy.jamesryfler said:I've heard Cameron White is more an Anil Kumble style leggie than an orthodox leg spinner.
I'm looking foward to see him bowl this weekend.
But yes I agree...that there aren't quality finger spinners in the country, perhaps why Australia struggle against them when they go to the subcontinent.
NSW are unlikely to take Hauritz, given their preference for McGlll and Liam Zammit.
WA certainly won't; not with Hogg and Casson in the squad.
Tas have Doherty, Tubb and Marsh so they probably won't be interested.
Yeah Nathan's best bets are probably SA and Vic. Who's bowling spin for these states now ?
Never got as far as me - casts disapproving glance at Liam.Craig said:Good to see everybody has calmed down and we dont need to pass the peace pipe around just yet ( have always wanted to say that).
Not an offie, but Clarke?warrioryohannan said:And thats why i think it will be better if Aus replaces McGill with some other spinner.Which bring me to mind a young offspinner (can't remember his name) who can also bat a bit, i think he could be a good choice.
Direct your complaints to the Ginger one.jagaways said:thats stupid that the teams who beat india BEFORE india beat aust. (if it happens) should get boosted. india might have only become good after that happened...so the other team doesn't deserve the boost.
CDAK said:As far as I know, during Kapil's time, England was a better (and best)team than Australia( though they won the 87 world cup beating England) in both onedayers and test, along with Pakistan. Kapil's India beat England 2-0 in England, in 3 match series(it would have been 3-0, if the rain & badlight hadn't affected te last day). This is the latest Indian overseas series victory.
By that logic, all ranking systems are flawed.jagaways said:thats stupid that the teams who beat india BEFORE india beat aust. (if it happens) should get boosted. india might have only become good after that happened...so the other team doesn't deserve the boost.
Simple - Australia don't use them. If they can make a living outside of Australia in their career of choice, good luck to them.bugssy said:what is it with old aussie players helping out other countrys.
we ad to work it out for ourselves so let them. why should we help em
How do u think Zaheer got 5 wickets only becaudse of BR's help? This is his third successive 5 wicket- haul on foreign wicket.jamesryfler said:I disagree about Zaheer.
But he has worked hard with Bruce Reid since and I was pretty impressed with what I saw of him at the Gabba. He seems to have corrected a couple of flaws in his action noticeable in the TVS Cup.
.
Sandy Gordan's presence can be easily understood by the Indian team's performnace(otherwise ,it 'd have been 2-0 in aus favour).jamesryfler said:well I'm just paraphrasing what Zaheer Khan said.
After taking a fivefer at the Gabba, he credited his improved showing from his fairly ordinary performances in India's home season to inputs from Bruce Reid and sports psychologist Sandy Gordon.
good for the game as a whole thoughbugssy said:what is it with old aussie players helping out other countrys.
