That was aus's policy for years agnst Scahin and it continues with those in the name of Neutral Umpires... Last time, the umpires were very much hurry in giving Sachin out even for the bowlers sneezing after the bowling follow- through

That was a horrrible decision by Bucknor, but i think it was a mistake and nothing else, we just have to accept it!

I'm highly impressed by Pathan, he can certainly swing the ball, some of his deliveries were beauty. Wonder if all 3 left armers in Khan,Nehra and Pathan do play for India in a match, can't remember a team playing 3 left arm fast bowler in a match before.

Australia are 239 for three right now, seems to be in command. The great Zaheer Khan is being missed badly by the Indian team, Australian batters have a great chance of piling up runs against weakened Indian bowling line up:(

Aus 241/3 and rains come down.

Pathan has been impressive in this match and like choora said, i would also like to c a 3 pronged left-arm pace attack. i think sri lanka had a 3 pronged lefty pace-attack in 1 match.

still i am optimistic enough that aus wont hit 350. remember the 1st day of the 2001 kolkata test. aus dominated the 1st 2 seesions and lost 7 wickets in the 3rd to be 291/8. i am expecting that to be repeated

Your expecting that to be repeated....??!?!?!

Pffftt....!!!!

You can be really, really 'blind' sometimes Amit.
This blindness and bias towards India of yours might cost you in some way, which I and James and Andre can see.

I really hope you can grow into a better judge of the game and become a little more neutral and a little wiser (while still supporting India)

Right from the TVS cup in India, Ponting has been getting lives. He has always been scratchy and somehow he gets lives, either because of bad decisions from umpires, or dropped catches/missed stumpings.

And whats up with these umpires? Whenever India tour Australia, something happens to them. It seems that they always want to give Tendulkar out. In the 1999 series, they gave him out 3 times when he was not out.

I thought I woudn't see another bad decision but thats what happened again. I'm not exactly sure about this but somebody told me that langer was plumb LBW in the 1st test (when he scored his century) but was given not out. Is it true?

Lastly fire Shepherd and Bucknor.

i cant understand y does everybody want me to be unpatriotic. i have always been an indian. was born and brought up here and i will never ever leave my country, no matter what.

even if i am asked to sacrifice my life for my country, i can do that happily as well.

i always support india, no matter what and i never give up hope. i still believe that india will win this test match. we are playing against aus and shouldnt give up hope, no matter what. c my sig.

please dont ask me to be unpatriotic.

I'm the same way about Australia. I, for one, won't ask you to be unpatriotic. I think your support is great, at times a bit unrealistic but also passionate. Keep it up.

Your patriotism is much appreciated Amit. I too am a patriotic Indian/Australian. I support India as much as you.

But the comments you make sometimes about the Cricket India plays, (not India the country), but the cricket India plays is a little 'biased' and a little un-intelligent at times. Your delivery of words can be a little more cleverly chosen I think.

To say that Tendulkar is the greatest ever is not patriotic but just a little blind. We as Indians are all proud of Sachin's great achievements, but there is something called humility isn't there?

Be patriotic, but not unreasonable Amit. Thats all im saying. You need to be a little more 'balanced' and 'sensible', but still patriotic.

Cheers,

No one is asking you to abandon you're country or be unpatriotic.
Just realistic.

For example I support Australia in most things , yet I dont for one minute kid myself that they are going to go near winning the 2006 football world cup (I mention as I noticed you're MSN profile said 2010 football WC champions - India:lol: )

I also support the Para Eels in the NRL , yet I dont pretend they are going to win it:(

Keep supporting you're country , its great , just be a little more realistic , saying things like "Ajay Ratra is better than Adam Gilchrist" , Zaheer Khan is better than Lillee was" , "Sachin is better than Bradman" and "Amit Mishra is better than Warne" just make you look plain arrogant / very stupid.
The only reason you beleive this to be so is that those players are Indian:duh: , see the connection ?

Its fine to say you hope India will win , just saying it WILL happen , especially against the current oponents is more than a little optimistic.

Stumps in half an hour.

Australia and Ponting in control on 333/4, Katich hanging around well to support him. Think Ponting could get out early next morning, but that won't help much for India since they've still got Gilchrist in the pavilion. Can easily see them putting 500+ up - which they should, as reports say it's a solid batting pitch (then, it rained, so...) - and then we'll see about India.

excellent cricket, beautiful batting from Ponting especially, the off side feild really didn't doo too much for india, need new tactics for tomorrow, though the form Ponting and Katich are in, with Gilly to come, they could be in for another long day

Gilchrist hits a single to move the score to 400.

400 runs in a day's play from Australia. Seems like the bowler's performances were up and down all day, with Pathan starting well then fading, Nehra starting horribly then tightening up his bowling at stages. No bowler's really looked threatening though, perhaps Ganguly should be a bit more experimental in his bowling changes/ field placements.

Will be interesting to see how the Indian batsmen will take to the pitch. By all accounts it should stay excellent for batting for at least a couple more days, and with the short side boundaries I hope they make the most of it.

I got it.

What has Sachin Tendulkar got in common with Luckyeddie?
We've both got ducks.

I like Shep as an umpire - he's been as good as they come (and totally impartial). I wasn't surprised to see him give Ponting the benefit of the douby (that ball from AA certainly moved a long way).

Sehwag - oh dear.

Amits - Don't stop supporting India. Patriotism's not a bad thing - WANT them to do well every time, but don't be unrealistic. I love Derby County (and Derbyshire) with every ounce of passion in my body - but I don'r see us winning the Champions League or the county Championship.

(well, not JUST yet).

I dont really have a problem with Amits 'patriotism'. Except that he constantly calls Australians arrogant when we do the same thing.
I also dont mind being arrogant, but hes gotta come down with us:lol:

As for the match, I have chosen to be humble and not quote amits previous posts and reply to them in an Australian manner (take that how you will...:P ).

That's a very mature attitude, I have to admit I was expecting Mr Amits previous posts to break all kinds of records for being the most quoted post ever.

Awesome day for Ponting and Australia, would have been a lot better if Katich hadn't got himself out but still I can see Ging Gang Gilly hitting a quick fire ton tomorrow and Aus posting 600+ and then it's backs to the wall time for India.

However, also could see India whittle last 5 wickets for 50 odd and then attacking the make-shift bowling lineup.

'Fraid it's going to have to be the first option for me. :(

Yep. That's so clearly the way to go.

I agree. worse decisions have been made before,

but
always in favour of Australia.
Really? I can name you a ton which have gone in favour of New Zealand, England, South Africa, Pakistan, West Indies, Zimbabwe and even - say it ain't so - India.

Seems to be a true Adelaide wicket - a batsmans paradise. 400+ in a day is testament to that. With Ponting and Gilchrist still in, a score of 600+ is on the cards.

Look forward to seeing how the Indians fare on this wicket. Could be quite a high scoring match.
