How good (or bad) a decision was it when Langer was caught off a no-ball?

Cricinfo commentary man, he say nooooooooo! (actually, he said it was a little harsh)
It was one of those decisions that could have gone either way...
if anything there was a hair in it so Bucknor could not be blamed for going the way he did and it would have been the same had he gone the other way...

I'm a bit surprised that they're able to play. It rained quite heavily early this morning (4am on) and has drizzled all through the day. It is also very unpleasant, very muggy and hot. I would not like to be bowling.

indian selectors r just $hit.

kartik wasnt even picked for the series and he looked to be the best bowler in the tvs cup :!(

ramesh has looked to be comfortable in australia and still he isnt picked for the 1st test :!(

parthiv hasnt done too well behind the wicket and still he is being persisted as wicket keeper :!(

ratra, who has done well in keeping, wasnt even selected for the tvs cup and this aus tour :!(

and many more ... :!( :!( :!(

Langer should have been out really, Nehra should consider himself unlucky.

Khan bowled well, got the imp wkt of Hayden.

Ajit is proving to be the most expensive bowler :!( I wish Balaji had been given a chance in this match instead of Ajit. The least we can expect from Ajit is to try to avoid a duck while batting!

In my dictionary:

Balaji = Most Useless Bowler Ever

Luckly the Indian selectors aren't using the same dictionary!

Seriously, Balaji is a good prospect for India. Both Sachin and Ganguly admires his skills, all he neeeds is proper guidance and a bit experiance.

Agreed on Kartik and Ratra. However since Indian selectors have already made a mistake of going for the muddy keeper "Dasgupta"instead of Ratra, Patel remains the only options as the playing keeper for the Indian think tank.

Wow!! Ajit just bowled a maiden over to Ponting!! Looks like Ponting took a sedative medicine during lunch.

There could be a case for both, the foot was on the line but if there was anything behind it, it was a hair at most and you could not say that langer was lucky... It was a call that could've gone either way...

Mate, India's fielding has been absolute crap for an international team...the field is like lush & green yet the fielders are making ridiculous fielding errors.

India can have all the batsmen they want who are pampered on Indian wickets, that also goes for the spinners but the mental toughness in this side is extremely poor & thats why mainly in tests they'll never get many test series wins outside of India.

It may sound harsh, but it's time India faced up to the music & realised they are no more talented than most of the other international teams.

Go Langer!

Well played Langer, you're a freakin' champ!
Survived the catch off a no ball, numerous chops which almost hit his stumps but he's played well on this green strip.

Yeah well played Lang, hes done very well. Punter did well too, but credit where credits due to Zaheer, as he bowled well and deserved the wicket.

Just did a bit of research on Langer, turns out he made his ODI debut as a keeper!

Also, he made his List A debut where none of the last 6 batsmen for the opposition scored any runs.

Ah was so proud of my WA boys...

I reckon they shoulda given Tendulkar a bowl.

To be fair to the Indians there were some very good deliveries bowled out there today , Zaheer bowled a good spell after tea , Nehra bowled well with the new ball , AA bowled two good overs all day (his first & one to Ponting) & Harbhajan bowled very well to Martyn.

The problem was they just couldnt string together 3 good overs on the trot , consequently the Aussies were never under to much pressure , every time they looked like tightening things up a loose ball came & the pressure was released.

The 3 seamers all have huge amounts of talent , they just lack patience , especially Zaheer.
Thats what seperates these guys from the likes of McGrath & Gillespie.

Also very interseting that they went with Bracken over Williams & the Indians with Chopra over Ramesh , both suprise decisions.

Well I went today and couldn't believe my eyes. When they lifted the covers off for the second session I saw heaps of water come off the covers and onto the field and before my eyes I saw the ground soak up the puddles of water in less than two minutes, I kid you not, it was a cricket lovers 'wet' dream.

P.S. sorry I couldn't resist.

You are exactly right, although I disagree that Australian's were never put under any pressure. It seemed that India were able to string a good 1/2 hour of consistent pressure but then just let the pressure off, through a misfield or bad bowling. Ponting never looked set and it felt like he could get out any ball. All the good periods for India were based around a Zaheer Khan spell, I thought he bowled very well today.

Ponting did look alright for a while. He started right, but that was against AA (doesn't count?)
Hayden was much worse, he played and missed, he rode his luck, you could see his dismissal was nigh.
