There is a big difference between taking wickets and getting wickets.
So which of the wickets were "undeserved"? I'm sure if Tait or Starc got a few with batsmen swinging across the like that would have been taken instead of gotten as well, no?

Stand down, I wasn't pointing to any particular wicket, in limited over cricket sometimes wickets are just the by product of teams trying to maximise scoring and sometimes wickets are products of good bowling.

Stand down from what exactly? I was just asking. We're all aware all bowlers can benefit from taking wickets within the context and format of a game.I don't really see your distinction of taking v getting wickets except in the way I thought you implied. If a bowler keeping his line and maintaining pressure gets a batsmen out then all credit to him for exploiting the game situation.

I told you to stand down because firstly you implied that I suggested that some wickets were undeserved, I did no such thing. Secondly you made reference that if Tait or Starc had taken wickets I would have thought differently. Again incorrect as I was referring to all wickets regardless of the bowlers. To keep the thread on track say what you want in reply and then the matter is finished.

Look I think my response was fair so if you don't mind I'll bin your gratuitous advice. Your comment was left open to an implication being made so I did. Even then your responses hardly addressed the point in my initial post regarding Taylor's belief that only express or spin bowlers could be effective on such wickets. @keepingthethreadon track.

I dunno. Someone said something about how commentators said only express/good spin bowlers can take wickets on that sort of pitch. Someone said that's not true because medium pacers took wickets. TNT points out that it's depending on your definition of "take wickets" that it is debatable.

that's how I saw it, not sure where the confusion arose

That decision was cleared biased against India to get Smith in early.

I hope MS has a cry about this in the press conference

his only redeeming feature is that he's the least chuckiest fast bowler in history. perfectly straight arm, sarwan would be proud.
