I'm at least pleased in a weird way that we lost some wickets today tbh. Not like the previous game where we coasted to 50 overs with 7 wickets in hand.

Sustaining that rate of scoring for 20 overs is far more difficult than throwing the bat for 10. Not a feasible approach with our batting lineup.
See we usually have batsmen who are set by the 30th over.. We don't have anybody who is an actual power hitter. Not saying that this approach can't go wrong but I feel that our batsmen are suited to sustained periods of reasonably high scoring than guaranteeing a concentrated burst.

Yeah, I also think India are doing kind of ok with the resources at their disposal. Almost feels like we've turned into ODI England though, at least with the bat. Everything is well-structured, but lacking a bit of killer instinct. Dhoni's decline hasn't helped.

It's not like they possess the skillsets to score at 8 RPO consistently anyways. From overs 35 onwards they're already at the most aggressive they can be - which is basically hitting every ball as hard as they can. They don't have the skillsets to hit deliveries into unexpected areas, or the muscle the ball over the rope. When they try to do either of those, it results in dot balls and wickets.

Disagree.. Had the feeling that they were coasting along and then decided to attack at the 39 over mark.

If I were to pick from Yusuf, Pandya, Raina, Dhawan, Gurkeerat and S. Yadav I'm not convinced Raina isn't the best option, as exciting as some of the names are.

I'm backing India here. You can't keep chasing 300+ without a slip-up, regardless of the surface it's a big chase.

I think that you're under-estimating the quality of your lineup

There are some seriously gifted players which is evident by the way in which they manipulate the ball around the field

If anything, I don't think that they hit the ball hard enough or are creative enough towards the end as 8 an over is nothing overly special these days in the last 10 with lots of wickets in hand

Yeah sometimes I just wish we'd do the rough thing and just dump him for Khawaja, just better in everything except fielding perhaps.

Come to think of it Khawaja/Marsh at the top inspires much more confidence than Finch/Warner

Thing is, though, the last chase wasn't particularly tight or anything. They paced that chase like they were chasing 330, not 310.

God I ****ing hate watching Finch bat.

Yeah, agreed. Warner gives you so much in the field too that you gotta pick him regardless of how overrated he is as an ODI bat.

Nah, he'll click and end up making a ton here. Does it a fair bit, much as it pains me to say it.

This'll be he longest spell I've spent in front of the tele watching cricket all summer. Fiancée across the road at Wilhemina's with her bestie and I have the world's most spoilt dog on my lap in the man cave with a glass of red in hand. Cheering.

Seriously if he keeps trying to hit ****ing length balls outside off stump with two inches of the ****ing blade through square leg I'm going to stab something.

Chewing up all the strike too.

Dunno why Arun wouldn't throw hands at that wide, full one. Precisely the sort of ball that wants a a thrashing
