Yeah I'm surprised he didn't seem bothered about getting out last ball of the day. It's hard to be critical of Kohli when he's played a couple of very good knocks, but does anyone else get the impression he sometimes thinks he's done enough and ist too worried if he gets out? As I say, it's a small criticism when he's batted so well, but I do get the impression tbat once he's proven his point, he relaxes and doesn't dig in mentally like he does when he first comes in.
As I say, it's only an impression I've gained of him.
Got run out jumping out of the way of one, then got done for obstructing the field by hitting it away while he was out of his crease. In the same series.reckon inzy has too.
Johnson should have run out Dhawan last test with itHas any batsman ever actually been run-out in a situation like that? The situation being that they play a forward defence which goes straight to the bowler who feels the need to throw the thing straight back, because clearly the batsman was thinking of a run. And how many have been hit? Hell it's goes for overthrows a fair bit too. It's a ****ty 'tactic' and it needs to ****ing die already.
I remember this. Versus England. Was hilarious.Got run out jumping out of the way of one, then got done for obstructing the field by hitting it away while he was out of his crease. In the same series.
WAG.
I remember the post match presentation ceremony where Ramiz asked him about the dismissals and he said "Ball nai khelta toh out dete hain, phir ball khelta hun tab bhi out dete hain", which translates to "First I dodged it, they gave me out, then in the next match I hit it and again I was given out. Tell me what I should do"Got run out jumping out of the way of one, then got done for obstructing the field by hitting it away while he was out of his crease. In the same series.

Yeah that's the impression you get from both Rahane and Kohli both. They're ridiculously gifted strokemakers who can smash good balls from good bowlers but it's pretty much a 'look at me now' show and they don't slow down and dig in for a big one. Rahane is just a crazy mother****er, just spent most of the day smashing everything he could on a day with some very good bowling. I wonder if he needs some lessons on temperament for times where he isn't seeing the ball so well. It's hard to be critical of Kohli when he's played a couple of very good knocks, but does anyone else get the impression he sometimes thinks he's done enough and ist too worried if he gets out? He can sledge all he wants. Can it in the pressers though. Just like Warner shouldn't have been canning Trott in the press during the Ashes last year.
can't deny he played a top knock today but to accuse Aussies of being hot-headed and not learning their lesson is laughable coming from a team that makes the same mistakes over and over. A lazy work ethic doesn't help or maybe that's their idea of calm
I don't understand the point you guys are making. Kohli talked about the MJ incident and basically said that when he's being talked to, it fires him up. I don't see how it's any different from when Steve Smith said after that partnership with Mitch in the previous test match that "it was really unwise" of India to sledge Johnson.Pretty pissweak stuff from kohli actually. He's just trying to get the last word from the brissie sledging of Mitch but we all know who won that. So who cares. Reckon oz should just ping him whenever he's out of the crease from now on.

The think that struck me the most was when I watched the highlights, and most of the boundaries Kohli and Rahane hit in that partnership were off at worst serviceable deliveries. There really weren't too many freebies, unlike Shami gifting a long hop every two overs to the Aussies. Just fabulous batting.Yeah that's the impression you get from both Rahane and Kohli both. Contrast that to Vijay who will gladly leave any ball he can till the end of time and Pujara who is not in nick right now but almost always digs in for a big one once past 70.
I don't mind him talking about how being sledged fired him up and kept him going. I just don't rate the whole they don't learn, i don't respect them, etc. sentiment, and also think him bitching about specific comments is pretty weak.I don't understand the point you guys are making. I see nothing wrong with what Kohli or Smith did. I mean, just because Kohli is on the losing side, his comments are pissweak? Gimme a break. He's speaking in that comment in an individual capacity about his batting, as Smith was about Johnson.
Why?He can sledge all he wants. Can it in the pressers though. Just like Warner shouldn't have been canning Trott in the press during the Ashes last year.
Is this just a thing that Australia cops? Every tour by India there just seems to be one huge partnership by players in ridiculously good form. I thought with Laxman gone Australia might have been spared this time. The think that struck me the most was when I watched the highlights, and most of the boundaries Kohli and Rahane hit in that partnership were off at worst serviceable deliveries. It won't matter here though. It's good theatre, mind youIs this just a thing that Australia cops? Every tour by India there just seems to be one huge partnership by players in ridiculously good form. I thought with Laxman gone Australia might have been spared this time.
Pujara and Kohli had an arguably even more glorious partnership in SA where they comprehensively spanked that attack all around the park at will. Got something close to 190 in a session. Is this just a thing that Australia cops? Every tour by India there just seems to be one huge partnership by players in ridiculously good form.
