I've been a massive Watson fan for a very long time.. probably only second to dontcloseyoureyes on that front.. but I really just have no faith in his batting anymore. I'd love to make the usual arguments about Australia's batting depth being weak, or him adding more as the fifth bowler than a specialist batsman who'd only be roughly as good as him anyway, but I don't even buy it myself anymore. He hasn't even been scoring as well in one dayers of late. He should be under serious pressure if Mitch Marsh is fit.

So, in the end a relatively comfortable win for the Aussies. Smith deservedly MOM.Possibly Hazlewood unlucky in this respect.
As for changes for Melbourne, Watson has to go Mitch Marsh has to prove his fitness, Warner has to prove his as well, Haddin should go Wade come in.Who do you drop to bring in Harris. Johnson too inconsistent to be classed as an all-rounder.It will be interesting as to what the team is composed of.
There is probably a few names to be bandied about....eg Finch, Vogues, Maddison even Burns.

Warner 3 - not his best, but he was due and his thumb injury probably didn't help in the second innings.
Rogers 7 - two important 50's, second one ensured the chase went relatively smoothly.
Watson 4 - bowled well but he should be under a lot of pressure to keep his spot as a specialist batsman if Marsh is fit.
Smith 9 - **** me he's in good touch.
S Marsh 4 - meh. Two starts but didn't do anything with them.
M Marsh 4 - was bowling well before injury. Didn't do a lot with the bat.
Haddin 5 - great game with the gloves, but his batting is awful ATM. Shades of Healy circa 1999.
Johnson 8 - first innings was probably the worst he's bowled since he got back in the team. But his batting and spell in the first session today was utterly crucial. Is he back in the groove?
Starc 5 - fun batting, good bowling second dig despite his first innings efforts.
Lyon 6 - resonable bowling, joined in on the GOAT tail wag.
Hazlewood 8 - fun slog at the end and a debut 5-fer. Great debut, has a long future ahead of him.
Vijay 9 - well batted.
Dhawan 7 - tried his hardest second dig, particularly given he was allegedly hurt.
Pujara 4 - failed to kick on from a solid position in both innings.
Kohli 2 - let down after the glory of the previous Test.
Rahane 7 - well batted first dig but needs to stop playing dire shots before he's set.
R Sharma 3 - got a start first dig.
Dhoni 5 - kept OK barring a crucial drop, got a start first dig.
Ashwin 5 - can bat, bowling was not great.
Yadav 5.5 - bowled with fire at times, fun slog second dig.
Aaron 3 - unlucky yes but is still horribly inconsistent.
I Sharma 5 - bowled very well at times but despite getting a lot more wickets was probably worse here than at Adelaide.

He's at peak strike rate powers in 2014. Good enough to retain a spot, I'd say.
