I tend to agree; maybe they're trying to see if Binny can effectively do his new ball job. I tend to think there's probably less difference between their batting than their bowling though. But they're resting Bhuvi, a guy who's barely plated am cricket in the last few months. He needs game
time before the WC.
But that still doesn't explain Mohit Sharma over Bhuvi, don't even think Mohit is in the WC squad.I tend to agree; maybe they're trying to see if Binny can effectively do his new ball job. I tend to think there's probably less difference between their batting than their bowling though.
Also a bowlers pitch early on according to cricinfo, so getting through the new ball is the aim instead of going for the early acceleration.Dhawan knows he's somewhat playing for his spot here. Been really circumspect.

I'm not sure you'd really get a sense of whether Binny could do that role if they actually opened together; it's not something that works anywhere near as well if you try to do it from both ends. I can see the logic I guess. Definitely not what I would have done but I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and piece it together. But that still doesn't explain Mohit Sharma over Bhuvi, don't even think Mohit is in the WC squad.
If that's the case they can always open with Shammi and Binny. I just feel that Bhuvi needs to play, and not just gentle warm up games, he needs to play in these high pressure games because he's the bowler who's going to be bowling in the quarters and onwards if India make it that far. I just can't see 2 pacers + Binny in a knockout game.I'm not sure you'd really get a sense of whether Binny could do that role if they actually opened together; it's not something that works anywhere near as well if you try to do it from both ends. Yeah on a pitch like this with the ball stopping so much and timing not coming easy, it's natural for batsmen to angle the bat at the last second and run it down towards that area. So many runs there today already.Legit a gully would be saving so many runs.
I doubt.... with the kind of 'not so positive' approaches that MSD has been taking over the course of last one year or so as skipper, i doubt if Kohli bats at 3 in WC.So yeah during the WC if 10+ overs have gone surely Kohli comes out @ 3 right?
