***Official*** India and England in Australia ODI Tri-Series 2015

Whatever it takes!!!
How odd is it that we have 3 guys captaining their ODI sides here who won't make their test squads... Well, with respect to Dhoni, at least in majority of CW's opinion..

Patel fired some in almost at 110 kmph, if he scores runs in this series he may put serious pressure on Jaddu/Ashwin :D
Was really impressive to see, he's a very promising all rounder for us, we shouldn't forget he got a shocker first ball when batting.

ok. now all 3 teams have played at least 1 game(aussie played 2)

here are the key strengths(+) / weaknesses(-) from each team who will use this data for the final world cup XI

india

+rohit sharma is a matchwinner
+raina is very consistent at ODI level.
-dhawan needs to be dropped
+akshar patel/bhuvi(at least up till death today) looks the real deal.
+spin attack looks good. Patel/Jadeja/Ashwin 3 spinners looks the go for india as most teams cant play quality spin. all 3 can bat too...
-pace attack looks abysmal as per test series. hittable and australia were hardly tested. not even in top 5 pace attacks, with only WI, Bangladesh worse atm.
-batting order is 1 batter short atm - will be corrected when jadeja returns from injury, who is world class no.7
-dhoni continues to lack runs in australia so far.

australia

+starc. 2 mom's out of 2. he is a revelation with the white ball and the no.1 odi bowler on current form.
+david warner/finch opening combination.
+the Devereux(smith) in good form.
+winning matches without their A pace attack. Johnson and Hazelwood(both in form) will improve the attack considerably. Also Mitch marsh is out with injury and will strengthen the attack as well.
+winning games without clarke their best ODI batsman - when clarke returns bailey will get dropped.
-george bailey. he is utterly useless and he is just playing for the opposition.
-glenn maxwell - also incapable. Expensive with the ball, and not consistent with the bat at all. Form slump continues.
-shane watson - inconsistent and unreliable with the bat. frustration continues.
-faulkner is not a great bowler he is too expensive
-cummins, sandhu are not the future of aus ODI bowling - too expensive and erratic.
-no good spinner in lineup - maxwell is too expensive, and Doherty wont get many games as cant bat.
+faulkner/haddin - great finishers(2 matches in a row again), great calm under pressure
+ultra deep batting lineup - aus bat up to no.10 when johnson returns. Only hazelwood is the genuine tail ender out of the XI.

england

+morgan in good form as captain
-currently the worst team in the competition by a big margin. Lacking in all departments. Batting is out of its depth and prone to collapses. Bowling is just expensive, out of practise, and inadequate. Need jimmy anderson back and try other bowling combinations.
Needs more cricket to assess, but woeful at the moment. bring back KP.

Now, I agree with maxwell needing to step up more with the bat, but he came out at an arguably tougher situation than steve smith which wouldn't have happened if smith didn't play a shot that if maxwell had played it would have made him the biggest laughing stock in australia. Also arguably helped push australia along when bailey stalled out the run-rate. Smith played reasonably well but he really shouldn't have gave it away the way he did, so I can't see it as a plus.

Yeah Smith's shot was ridiculous. He along with Finch could have easily helped us cruise through but those two quick wickets made things tight.

Maxwell did a good job imo. As it was, Faulkner and Haddin needing 20 runs at less than a run a ball was never going to be tough. He got them to that point with some quickfire runs after those quick wickets.

Just banter Blue the Indians talk as well,Kohli not shy.
From memory i could be wrong it was an Indian player hit with the ball and a run being taken,Warner and other Aussies took offence the batsmen said something in Indian to Warner. If i am wrong i am wrong. An Indian swearing at Warner in Indian is a sledge no.

Anyway these guys get on they play IPL together.
No one should take offence at the sledging this summer its all part and parcel of the psycholoical edge.
Blue if this is your point on overall sledging then take aim at India too.Kohli attacked Steve Smith who is quiet as a mouse when he laughed off an appeal,he went full on.
Its just part of the game, don't make a mountain out of a molehill,if it was 1 sided then i may agree with your point.

BTW its great to see Sandhu turn out for Australia instead of turning out for India,as there has been a push there, whether its from just fans or not.Back the multi culteral policy put in place by Cricket Australia, its giving returns, btw not saying Sandhu a token he desevred the call up.

I am not saying we don't sledge and yes Virat gives as good as he gets.. But racism is where the line is crossed, the exchange between Rohit and Warner would obviously have been in English, so if Warner still mouthed "speak English" that to me is a racial slur and needs to be dealt with I hope this is not just swept under the carpet.

Quick question regarding the overrate suspensions, if you are guilty of not completing the overs twice in 12 months and get a ban, does your record get reset once you have served the ban?

I'd agree with a fine, not a suspension,if thats what happened i feel asleep on the lounge ,just saw the replay did not hear the soundbite.

On Davie he grew up with Usman Khawjah from the age of 4,and attacked Joe Root for mocking Hashim Amla, and he regularly buddies with the Indians in IPL.So thats a big call. But if hes' guilty a fine in order, but as to sledging even most Indians see the by play between both sides as good fun.Nothing radical has gone down this year between the 2,if guilty then maybe we will hear about it about the same time Bailey gets a ban.If its a 1 match ban fine, good to rest Warner anyway.

Contra Bailey will get a 1 match ban and be cleared before the world cup, gives Australia a chance to look at Callum Ferguson or Cameron White.

Well there is no denying he's a phenomenal player, I actually wouldn't want him banned and I for one don't think he's racist, but just that that was uncalled for as a comment :)
