Their batting is equally crap.England may actually beat India given how crap our bowling is.
??I'm very glad the selectors didn't pick Cameron White, despite his recent strong performances, because after 2 and a bit years of being in amazing form it looks like he has completely lost it. In all honesty he should have been one of the first picked for Australia in ODIs and T20s for the last 2 years but was never given a chance. However if they had selected him now it would have been ugly.
It would have to be a 8th dimension of crap to fail against Indian bowling based on the pitches we've seen all summer.Their batting is equally crap.
You need not go as far as previous NZ summer. England were thrashed in their own den 6 months back by India. The English batting line-up, that you consider to be good enough to get 250 outside Asia, managed to score 250 or more only once in four attempts. This after they had humiliated India in the test series.England's batting is always good for 250 outside Asia against good bowling teams. It has been their game plan for years - Trott/Cook/someone bats through and Morgan/the hitters go bang at the end - 250 posted - Anderson/Broad/Finn/Swann/Tredwell/Others rip the oppo out.
England will probably be 30 runs short enough times in this series and the World Cup to ensure disappointment, but they will win some games. India's bowling is definitely bad enough for Morgan/Moeen and even the anchors like Bell and Root to get hold of and post 280+. India's spinners will get destroyed. England have the bowling to defend 300 from India in Australia and New Zealand. New Zealand dealt India a 4-0 defeat last summer with a similar team structure to England, and a leaky fifth bowler for Kohli and Dhoni to smash. New Zealand just kept taking wickets and McCullum/Anderson kept launching from the platform set by Guptill/Ryder/Williamson/Taylor.
It was a world of difference having Trott and old Cook though. We don't have anyone of that calibre at the moment. Lack of top order runs has been a huge issue for the last year or so and is the main difference between the side that was really good from 2011 to 2013 and the side that hasn't won a series since the Champions Trophy.England's batting is always good for 250 outside Asia against good bowling teams. It has been their game plan for years - Trott/Cook/someone bats through and Morgan/the hitters go bang at the end - 250 posted - Anderson/Broad/Finn/Swann/Tredwell/Others rip the oppo out.
