Hi guys.

Posts are interesting. It seems that people are setting out to totally crack everything there is to crack about the game. Very ambitious!

"Magpie" Editor looks kewl. Am impressed. Would be more impressed if it was tiger-striped and everytime you selected an option it went "grrrrrrrr" - but that might give it too much of an air of levity, dontcha think?

Righto, am ready for some joyful hexing. We MUST be able to transfer players more easily than interchanging the code. I wonder if there is anything in the datap.db file connected with this? Anyways, will re-read the very useful posts on the subject and take it from there. If anyone has anyone has anything useful to add or even anything that they thought of, then let me know.

Oh. Another thingy. Changing county bugets. I managed to load a file saved from the artmoney prog. But does anyone know what part of the game has the county budgets in? I think it is a feature that should be incorporated into an editor.

:cool2:

Soon, we'll take over the world... :P

We know there is a pattern in the 5th offset (which is in fact the number of the team in the dataP file), but that only changes the player page. I bring good news though - the information about which player plays for which team must somehow be contained in the dataT.db file, because if I use the 2000 and 2002 database the player codes are different, yet the players are still in the squads.

I also have ICC2. And on the editor for it, I can make a whole team of international players. And it works fine (bit tedious when they''r ecalled up of course :P). But once you get to the contracts it won't let you keep all of them, it will only let you have one. So like tiger said it might be realistic enough if we start off with two then only one from then on. But this will no doubt have to be tested.

Kenyan players have "00" as their county.

Cloete - would be very helpful if you went through the ICC files and found where the which pictures go where - saves me from doing it and lets me concentrate on Magpie.

I was walking back to my room from an Economics lecture and one of them flew/run right across in front of me.

I am fairly sure you can keep two overseas players in your squad if you give them both 2 year or greater contracts.

problem is this cant be done ingame.

Ground Files:

County ground files are stored in the grnds folder (default: C:/Program Files/Empire Interactive/International Cricket Captain 2002/grnds).

800x600 pixel 24 bitmaps.

International grounds are located in the same directory but are in a folder called Int, inside the grnds folder.

One problem with ground files is that the view of the commentary, scorecard, summary etc needs an outline on the grund. If you have a look at the pics they all have that outline for the commentary and figures and stuff.

Player Photos:

Player photos are located in the Photos folder (default: C:/Program Files/Empire Interactive/International Cricket Captain 2002/PHOTOS).

They are 70x60 pixel bitmaps.

Photos are named by Players last name, thn the players two initials.

E.G Hogg GB or Gilchrist AC

Club/International Logos:

These are located in the mlms folder (default: C:/Program Files/Empire Interactive/International Cricket Captain 2002/mlms)

68x68 pixel bitmaps.

Normally a small round silver outline with blue being used to cover any parts of the picture left over.

Hopefully this information helps neil. The only problem would be with the backgrounds if you have a look at them it may be a bit difficult to get that outline of the stats, summary and commentary into the photos.

You guys are doing a great job.
I have couple of things to ask
first is are we in a stage to bulit scearios . If so i would definitely like it
to be in the editor . How i would love to have scenarios like pakistan vs india coming up
second is can u advance the year in which game begins . it is probable in the exe but probably
not because the scerarios have their own years.
Continue the good work

Neil, I said last night I had edited Michael Bevan. In bowling skill, where I changed it so he is a top bowler, he changed from bowling left arm chinamen to bowling off spin. Even with your explanation of bowling hands, I still don't understand this.

Completely figured out team stats.

Say a player like PAC Cottey, who plays for Sussex. His hex code starts at 8DEAB with the following offsets:

Code:
C7 00 01 80 0F C7 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 B1 D7 40 00 07 50 68 69 6C 6C 69 70 06 43 6F 74 74 65 79 03
The first two are player IDs. Then two irrelevant ones that cannot be changed. The fifth then control which county/state the player page says he plays for, and the sixth and seventh repeat player IDs. Then a lot of irrelevatnt zeroes, then the birthdate, and then the name.

However, there is another element. The squads are made by the program checking the bottom of the file - as to which playerID plays for which club. This starts at hex offset BAB1F, with the Sussex squad:

Code:
01 00 11 00 14 00 74 00 75 00 88 00 90 00 B7 00 [b]C7 00[/b] D5 00 02 01 0E 01 0F 01 14 01 2B 01 36 01 45 01 4B 01 6A 01 76 01 A1 01 CA 01 CC 01
Cottey's ID in bold.

The fifth offset control the number of players in the team (a hex number, i.e. 14 players in hex = 1*16 + 4*1 = 20 players in decimal). The players' IDs of the team are then listed, meaning that if you want to add a player to a squad, you may do so. However, you have to edit the fifth offset so that it detects the new number of players.

After Sussex, there is a gap until you again find an offset with 01 00 - that's Surrey (BABE1) - and so on down to Derbyshire, which ends with Lian Wharton at BB52C.

Then, for some reason best known to Empire, they skip a number of offsets before starting again with Yorks at BBEAD, and ending this bunch with Warwicks at BC065. That's it - hope you understand what i've written...

I did for every team and put the savedgames on my site to download. The info for this is somewhere inside datap.db I am looking for the exact location now
