Yeah, not at all convinced by Tremlett. Should probably take him in the squad but meh.

But agree, I'm looking forward to seeing Broad there.

Now that the series is won I could live with Jimmy being rested, he's never much cop there anyway. But on the other hand I want foot on throat and best team out there and there is no way, regardless of everything, that he's not part of the best team.

I don't know because I didn't want to miss any of the post match stuff.

They post it online so will have a look tomorrow.

Fine effort from Broad. Really getting a bit of overdue reward as he's bowled well most of the series without a great deal of luck. Eleven in a match a superb performance in anyone's book.

Khawaja is done. He's just not good enough. I wouldn't be letting him anywhere near the team until he piles on some runs in the Shield, which he simply hasn't done.

Play went on until well after half 7 tonight.

So why in normal circumstances do we trot off the field at 6:30 regardless of how many overs have been bowled? Bloody stupid rule.

He has, bowled better this series than in any of his previous ashes series and before this game had ordinary figures. Would imagine he may enjoy the pitch in the last test too.

Honestly I think this about as good as England are but then they have not lost for 12 tests so it is not really anything to complain about.
This. People going on and on about how England are only playing at about 80% is really starting to annoy me. Perhaps it's just that Australia have a teriffic new ball attack (spear-headed by one of the top 2 bowlers in the world), and Cook and Trott are unable to handle it. Combine that with the fact that Root has looked vulnerable against the new ball since the tour of NZ, Bairstow doesn't really look up to it and England's options for the 3rd seamer spot (whether it be Bres, Finn or whoever) aren't as good as Australia's, and it really should be no surprise that the series has been as keenly fought as it has.

This England side has definite weaknesses, but they also have (on average) a strong batting lineup and a world-class spin option. People should stop expecting them to be Australia circa 2000, and just be satisfied that they're winning consistently against all comers.

Yeah Khawaja has to go now. Phil Hughes should have been in the team before him anyway and I don't even rate Hughes that highly.

I agree on the bowlers but KP, Trott and Cook averaging 30 odd and Prior less than 20 shows clearly that they could play better. Don't know how anyone could argue that England couldn't play any better.

i really hate this drs should only be for howlers sentiment. it should be to get the decision correct, whether it's a close call or not.
That's not what it was designed to do. The system would be completely different if that is what the requirements were.
