I don’t need convincing. I’ve been calling out the conundrum England has for months. The deficiencies in both batting and bowling mean they’re chronically disadvantaged in one of them no matter the conditions. It doesn’t matter against half strength Pakistan sides or SA who don’t know which end of the stick to hold, but it will matter from tomorrow.Who are you trying to convince me or yourself? We have got you worried, your batting is getting old and the bowling is over the hill. We have a fresh outlook and plenty of confidence. after the 1st hour of play either way you will be revising your opinion on the ashes series and it will be downhill from there mate. England to win on the morning of the 5th day (Some Showers around at the weekend)
Warner is having a sleepless night about Stuart Broad lol
Good point. It'll be very interesting if they're running with anything specific to be honest, instead of just producing the best deck they can.
well that isn’t the Eric Hollies Stand
Umm ICC rankings have Labuschagne, Smith and Head as top 3 ranked batsmen in the World....and England are opening the bowling with Anderson and Broad at their age lolWho are you trying to convince me or yourself? We have got you worried, your batting is getting old and the bowling is over the hill.
Have you seen James Anderson bowl in the last few years?Umm ICC rankings have Labuschagne, Smith and Head as top 3 ranked batsmen in the World....and England are opening the bowling with Anderson and Broad at their age lol
My post more to do with Hinton said that Australia bowlers are over the hillHave you seen James Anderson bowl in the last few years?
England are bound to play Wood at some point, and he hardly weakens the attack. Woakes could easily play at Lord's given his record there.I'll be surprised if England don't have at least one more injury issue with their bowlers during the series (namely with either Robinson or Anderson). Then again, I'd be equally surprised if we don't have a Hazlewood issue.
Haze/Neser wouldn't be awful replacements for Cummins. Root or Smith getting injured would result in the biggest drop off in terms of the replacement.England are bound to play Wood at some point, and he hardly weakens the attack. Woakes could easily play at Lord's given his record there.
For me, the biggest impact on any side would be an injury to Cummins.
No-one should ever take Hinton seriously lolMy post more to do with Hinton said that Australia bowlers are over the hill
From an England perspective, still a few reservations on the side but not sure we could select anything else at this stage for the first Test.
Yet to be convinced by Crawley and while Duckett has been excellent since returning to the side, still a question mark over his long-term selection for me but the management will give him plenty of backing.
Moeen is a disappointing selection in some respects but there’s very few spinners in the county game knocking, let alone banging, down the door to selection.
The approach is going to be predictable and exciting. Yes we’ll have a couple of collapses I’m sure, but we’re very much a live opponent for the Aussies.

Four man pace attack with Root and Stokes as options would have been my choice,
Sorry, but when does patience with Crawley run out? He's had more chances than anybody since Graeme (flat track bully) Hick!
Very disappointing that they even called him up. There are young spinners out there and even if they only made 12th man it keeps them interested
In general though I fully agree with your post.
What do you mean? The blokes been ****ing Nostradamous for a year......has he got a call wrong so far?No-one should ever take Hinton seriously lol
