By the end of Hazlewood’s spell Robinson was basically stopping for a smoke waiting for the ball to get there.

He has looked cooked as the game has gone on. He's lucky they have a week off and not a back to back game or he'd miss next one. He may anyway and just play 1,3 and 5 and Starc plays next week to strengthen the tail.

Robinson has quietly had a good game. 17, 3-55 and 24* so far. Robinson's batting under bazball has been a bit underappreciated in general honestly. Hasen't been amazing, but he's averaged 21 with the bat and played a few important 25-40 odd's

Which made the declaration even more bizarre as they could have added another 50 or so.

You mean green? He really sucked at this role when he was asked to do it in the India series tbf. Although he was asked to do it basically every over he bowled.

Which made the declaration even more bizarre as they could have added another 50 or so.

If they add another 50 odd they don't get 2 shots to bowl at the top 3 with a new rock and don't get as many overs under cloud at the start of day 2. England got Australia 20-2, and 60-3 on a road, who knows if they do that if they don't declare. Australia should have been rolled for 300 and Australia facing a 350+ chase here.

I don't think that series should be taken too seriously in terms of his bowling (assuming you mean the series in Aus) - he basically relearned how to bowl the off-season after that.

My observation about Robinson's batting a few months ago is that Ben has had a word and told him to take it seriously.
