Has anyone ever had a bigger gap between their best and worst shots than Crawley. Everything either ***y af or a hideous false shot, nothing in between.

Bit of a surprise from both teams then. I think every match preview I saw had Ashwin and Leach down to play.
Apparently this is the sixth test out of 21 as head coach that Silverwood hasn't selected a specialist spinner. Given that six of the others were in SL and India, that's 40% of the tests when it was, at best debateable.

And I must point out grecian's admirable self-restraint during the hour and a half since the team was announced.

I can see the logic. Nathan Lyon averaged 55 with the ball vs India during the BG series in Oz, and NZ's all seam attacks have been too good for India in England and NZ.

Eh, Lyon averaged 55 because he bowled harmless piss. Wouldn't be too hard for Leach to do better.

Some wag on cricinfo has pointed out that England scored more runs in their hundred than London Spirit. No idea whether that's actually true.
