What a load of bollox.Utter joke decision.

May work out ok though as the bowlers will be fresh tomorrow to use the new ball if they don't get back on.

Australia clearly have the umpires in their pocket and were ****ting themselves.

Assuming we get no more play, can we start early tonight?

You'd think it'll be a slightly early start. Have only lost an hour of play thought I think?

In other news, Bollinger left out of the NSW one day side today.

Maybe he'll get a game for Fairfield twos tomorrow.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with North in the next test if he fails again in the second innings. Surely his chances would be exhausted then?

Yeah, they changed the rules at one of the ICC meetings not long back.
I wonder what'll happen when the umpires decide to take the players off for bad light on the final day of a test and both sides wish to play on, believing they can win the match - players to continue the match as the umpires leave the field? As for the decision to take the players off this evening, turned out to be a great decision given it poured down five minutes later.

Bad light is the biggest farce in cricket.

In a game played over five days where the condition of the ball, the playing surface and the atmosphere act as massive variables, surely we can live with poor seeing conditions for a few overs. There are lots of random circumstances in cricket where batting becomes a little bit more difficult than the mean but we live with it because that's the nature of Test cricket. The difference between a first and fifth day wicket changes the game a lot more than the difference between excellent and marginal seeing conditions.

Yeah but at the same time, things like swing can be countered by a batsmen's ability and technique, where as something like bad light can cause a batsmen to be dismissed when they could do nothing about it. It really tests a batsmen's night vision which is hardly a facet of cricket. I agree though that the rule is exploited too much.

Tbf, a big part of batting is being able to see the ball :p

Play abandoned for the day.

Have had no sleep and watched 60% of the play today yet managed to see 20% of the wickets.

Ah well, I saw Twatto get out, so I'll be thankful for that
