*Official* First Test at Lord's

Agree, brilliant test and a awsome final day's cricket, Jimmy and Broady especially were brilliant today and it was great to see Jimmy get his 5fer. Can't wait for the next one.
MOTM could have gone to several players but I'm please for KP,his innings was the difference in the end and that first day especially, were extremely hard batting conditions to get through.

Was a brilliant performance today, they bowled very well as a unit and hunted in a pack. No weak link at all (even Swann kept pressure on despite no help from the pitch) and Jimmy was inspired after a pretty ordinary first innings. Broad had a great match but could have had another 5 wickets or so if he'd had some luck.

Since the match thread appears to be ****ed, how's about we try this thread for the aftermath, then once the board decides to work then this thread can be merged back into the other thread?

Plus, I needed somewhere to tell everyone else who wants to boof Jimmeh (this means you Corrin) to get in line.
Other thread works for me fine now, although it seems to have worked better for me than most from the start. Can you try making a post in it for me?

It is strange. I wrote in the 1st Test thread that someone from England has to take the game by the throat and do something special. I was wrong. I dont think they did that and I dont think that England bowled especially well.

That makes this victory even more impressive. They bowled decently as a unit and pretty professionally but won at a canter without having to do anything special or for someone to have the game of their life.

I dont think India threw it away or that England grasped the opportunity. I think the game just played itself out with the better team winning.

I believe you should be as graceful as you'd expect your opponents to be.

With that in mind

**** YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

We are the ENGLAND, the MIGHTY MIGHTY ENGLAND

All the non-given plumb lbws in the world couldn't stop us. One ****ing nil!

I think Jacknife's posted was added to different parts of the database in a different order or something. I'll see if I can fix the thread by deleting it (sorry if I can, Jacknife :p).

EDIT: Nope, not it. It probably is my fault actually, because I was moving off-topic posts about at the time of the outage, and it probably didn't completely do it properly.

Was gonna bring my shovel but the forum's too ****ing slow.

So instead

Turbinator - yes you are right. Anderson really is an amazing bowler. Glad you kept faith in him when he was below par. Not many bowlers could have one of their worst Tests in about a year and wind up with about 7-150ish

Shri - good to see your plan of Sachin 'Jimmy's Bitch' Tendulkar smashing the 'vampire' around worked out for the whole match. Most vampires wilt in bright sunshine but this one took a 5fer. ****ing aiii.

Weldone -

1-0 bitches

It's got to be said, Bowden, today was crap, those 2 Lbws today are about as plumb as it gets. and he royally ballsed them up and could have proved crucial.

The result will deflect a lot of the criticism but if Raina had held on for a draw then there would have been calls for blood. To be fair, the umpires have been put in an unenviable position. I am sure they want to have decisions referred but due to a small bunch of ****s they are left isolated and vulnerable everytime the ball hits the pads. They are on a hiding to nothing. The BCCI owe all umpires an apology.

Yeah, the umpiring in this match was of a good standard. And when I can say that and still point to a couple of shockers that could've completely changed the game, well then that really says it all.

Yeah, I mean for the Broad lbw I guess he thought Raina got bat on it. Which is why it's beyond me why we can't even have lbw reviews without the predictive. ****ing disgrace.

But **** it, we got them out anyway, for 200 less than we scored for 14. That's not just a victory. That's a paddling.

For 4 and a bit days it was as good a display of umpiring for a long time from both, then Billy had a headturn, thank god it didn't matter in the end.

The biggest suprise to me was that India didnt look very good. I dont think England played that well. It certainly was a paddling but nothing to compared to beating the Aussies which is suprising. It has almost been an anti climax
