*Official* Fifth Test at the SCG

A massive fluke. Johnson's whole career has been one big fluke. It really has. I was a Johnson fan until that Lords Day 1 in 09, that was the worst bowling ive ever seen, EVER in a test match. You cant front up to a test and bowl like that, its not acceptable. He has been bowling as bad as that in several spells since, its embarrassing.
True.

Again though I would blame this on the coaching. I mean seriously we know the potential that Johnson has. Why are the staff not in his ear telling him the things he needs to hear between each innings. His issues are technical in nature and it's a crime that they have not been corrected by the staff yet. What's Troy Cooley doing?

Maybe they are. If his mind's not in the right place, all the advice in the world won't make much of a difference.

Case in point, Andrew 'Ooo look a short ball!! HOOK!!! Aww no, I'm out' Hilditch.

Johnson isn't a fluke overall, although his ability to get wickets with crap balls is pretty fluky, but Perth was a fluke and while immediately after Perth his 'resting' looked like brilliant work, I think after the SCG and MCG I think we can say "well actually...."

quite simple... that pitch has very good bounce. johnson absolutely loves pitches with bounce. i expected him to do well at the gabba, until it became clear that that was a dead, flat road.

It's a bit wierd though, because even his lines etc. were better. Whether or not the pitch has bounce shouldn't affect the areas he is bowling in.

Johnson is an enigma

Sutherland, Hilditch and Neilsen - ordinary cricketers, and ordinary in their current roles. It's baffling why Australian cricket is at the mercy of these guys who are the very embodiment of mediocrity. Where is the excellence, expertise among these guys? In no capacity have they ever achieved excellence in cricket, and yet we're hostage to them. How does that work?

Hilditch: "I think we've done a very good job as a selection panel".

Jesus christ!

TBF I don't criticise them because they were poor players, and great cricketers don't necessarily make great coaches or administrators.

That's not say to I defend them at all btw. I only say this in the hope that non FC players can actually have a role to play in Cricket Administration!

It's a hopeless situation though. No one will admit responsibility as they all run like ****roaches to protect their jobs

If he was an AFL coach, he would have been hounded out of his job by the media, club members, sponsors about 12 months ago.
