... and so it's not even a foul haha or somehow it was Macca's fault  .

Not to worry, PGMOL make you all look abit silly :goof:
Some of you really are incapable of being objective when Liverpool are involved.

Diaz was passive when Tarkowski played at the ball. Once Garner took possession Diaz had returned to an onside position.

That's always been the rule. Not even remotely controversial... maybe unless you're an Arsenal fan.

Edit: will add that ref was awful all game. I just hate dangerous tackles like that, no excuse for it not to be a red with VAR. The modern interpretation of 'reckless' is basically any situation where tackler isn't in control or "off his feet" and makes studs up contact above the ankle - it hits basically every criteria.

If Macca's studs are planted there it is likely a broken leg but we really shouldn't need to see that outcome to warrant that decision.
For me they got both wrong. It's a red, it's dangerous and he knew what he was doing. But it is on that snivelling little **** MacAllister so can see why they allowed it.

But it's also offside. If Diaz isn't standing there then Tarkowski doesn't have to play the ball, he's absolutely having an impact on the play by being there and it should've been chalked off.

Then you've got last night's fiasco at The Bridge where they took about 10 mins to decide if there was an offside or not and in the end made a decision on such a blurry image you couldn't tell anyway. There needs to be the equivalent of umpire's call, if it's that close you can't really tell, go with the onfield decision.

Interesting games next midweek and it will also show how strong English and Scottish teams are in relation to others in the various competitions

how Rangers have got this far is a minor miracle really

arsenal v real and psg v villa will show if the premier really is “the best league in the world “

Still awaiting the semi auto offside var which was promised to be in place during the season

they’ve used it in the fa cup but not in the premier yet

it’s a good upgrade imo

As we (Liverpool) are all but confirmed to win pl this year i would like slot and Edwards to buy these players in summer
Milos kerkez
One among kudus /cunha/mitoma
A dm to replace trent
A defender to replace vvd (piro hincapie from leverkusan /van hacle from brighton could be option)
Striker( amoura from wolfsburg or oshiman)
Wanna know opinion from fellow liverpool fans

I remember when this thread was actually enjoyable.
Reflection of the league at the moment. Worst season ever, it's so boring when it's not competitive.

United and Spurs fans hiding, Chelsea and City fans back to being non-existent, Arsenal fans sooking about injuries and only really Forest fans having fun along the way.

Hopefully Villa can add a bit of spark to it all and grab a trophy to end their season.

I don't disagree btw. I initially thought offside too but with the replay it made more sense why it stood. They can't just change the laws mid-game.

Hopefully it's something they look at soon.

Ps what's up with the Macca hate? What's he ever done wrong haha

Palace/Brighton apparently being called a "derby" by is one of those things I've never understood.
I don't blame you. It's officially regarded as a 'rivalry' than a 'derby', but the point remains. You may know that it dates abck to a fractious cup tie in the late 1970s, but that doesn't really explain it anyway. I'm sticking to my view which I put here a couple of weeks ago that picking a fight with Brighton was a safer bet than doing that with Millwall, who are actually the nearest team to Palace.

The quality (or lackthereof) seems to come in cycles. The thread had been great for years, but we also mustn't forget the days of Roseboy, Aussie, ScalyPiscine, and Marc. They were dire as well.
Good point, even if I don't remember the first two at all. All I would add to @Pothas is that the 'ignore' function is a wonderful thing if another poster is not worth the time of your day.

Yeah, you mentioned that in response to me. In theory, Millwall are my lots biggest rivals and it has a diabolical history in terms of violence. This dates to the times of the dockyards. Luckily, I am young enough to have avoided the worst of that. The relatively few times we have played each other in my time, games had huge police presence.
