It's probably more likely to go the other way imo (i.e., Maresca is the beneficiary of very low expectations, and gets loads of hype for being somewhat successful with a squad that should have no excuses for doing at least "quite well").

It would be good if Chelsea maintained their current form as at the minute it seems the most likely way we get a decent title race. Though Liverpool are wobbling a little I guess.

Relying on offside goals to go through... not ideal
Or relying on rank refereeing decisions to go through against a truly abysmal side....not ideal.

I don't know whether it was inside or outside the area, but it was clearly a foul.

Palace also look like they might have turned the corner and starting to show similar form they ended last season with.

Your lot v S*uthampton. I mean I hate that lot, but even I'd have sent off the Liverpool defender.
Yeah ref was awful. Should have stopped play for a head injury in the build up to their goal too.

Quansah has been a real disappointment this season. Hasn't adjusted well to the new boss at all.

It's quite funny that City are only 9 points behind despite having lost about 17 games in a row.
Looks like being 12 points after today, the leaders still with a match in hand over City. And by all accounts they've been outstanding so far this afternoon. At the other end of the table, Leicester and Ipswich's most recent results suggest that, like last year, the three promoted sides will be relegated come May.

And I'm guessing that Bournemouth being in 5th place in the top tier must be their highest ever standing. Some job their manager is doing.

EDIT
As soon as I write that, Tottenham pull one back. Aplogies to @Skipper Pup , that one's down to me.

Liverpool could and probably should have scored more. Spurs are a lot of fun to watch, but not sure Ange has much time left sadly.

Spurs were really flattered by that scoreline.

In other news another humiliating defeat for United, but at least Sir Jim has saved a few more pennies

so that's about an even week for Ineos I guess:whistling

We switched off at 5-1. Disappointed that we concede those last two goals. Cracking game nonetheless.

Really missing Konate's aggression at the moment. Hopefully he is back soon.

Arsenal lose Saka now. I’m struggling to see how Liverpool don’t win the League, everything seems to have fallen right for them.

Injury was inevitable when he plays the amount of minutes he does.

Arteta has failed to sign adequate back up which at some point is going to be an uncomfortable conversation.
