How did everyone's FA cup first round go?
Interestingly.

Angel Gomes is exactly the type of player hideously under-appreciated in English football, he is a player that always looks to receive the ball, and move it forward, quickly and with intelligence, exactly what both England and United need. No surprise he had to go abroad to get proper recognition. I think Barney Ronay was saying as good as he was in those friendlies he still wasn't given the ball enough by England who still passed back and sideways when Gomes was open almost all the time.

Performing well in France, and in a handful of meaningless international games against second tier opponents does not make someone a top Premier League talent
Or you just made a mistake letting him go.

Not the first or last time United have messed up when it comes to recruitment/retention.

Tbh it's not the first or last time any team has done it, some people mature at a different time, different place.

I personally would rather have Gomes than Mainoo ATM, but Mainoo can grow. It'll be interesting what Tuchel feels about the 2.

Not strictly England related but if you offered me any young defensive minded midfielder in the prem, I'm taking Baleba from Brighton.

I think he's going to be a star. Bit of a Caicedo/Bissouma hybrid.

He can do what both can do but with a higher ceiling imo.

List of some of the attackers that have had success and exposed Trent this season so far.

I really wish he would learn to defend.

As an aside while on the topic of strikers, Luis Diaz...

Been playing there consistently for Colombia and was electric in the role against Leverkusen. It reminded me a lot of Mane when he moved centrally during his last season at the club.

He's not a traditional striker but his energy, aggression, physicality and ball carrying suit the role in this Slot system. One to definitely watch because on that performance he's jumped Nunez in the pecking order.

Jones playing well in the 10 and Harvey Elliott back in training too. LFC attack has options galore and that's even without Jota and Chiesa.

EPL absolutely. Smart money would be on Arsenal or Chelsea.

United have made their bed with their current strikers, City don't really need him, and LFC won't spend the money required to get him.
Yeah I'd agree with that. He will ofc continue to be linked with United.

I think he'll go to Arsenal personally
