Mbappe won’t sign a new contract & will only agree to sign for one team and they can’t afford him

That’s not being reasonable

It’s a shame that PSG can’t lend him out to Milton Keynes
Mbappe isn't obliged to sign a new contract.

He committed to a 3 year contract last time and is honouring that contract.

He'd also be stupid to push for a move this summer when Real Madrid can take the money they were going to spend on a transfer fee and stick it in his back pocket next summer instead.

State of all the pundits saying Kane's move to Bayern is a "mistake" etc. Even if he wins nothing so what? Bloke probably just fancies a change from having another season with Cinderella FC and living in the misery that is London if nothing else. Plus Germany is awesome. Good luck to him.
Irrelevant "record" anyway. Kane is barely in the top 20.

Seems you argued (more articulately) exactly what I was saying a few pages back about the Mbappe situation.

I haven't been on this forum too long but I find the following weird:
1. People will argue that Mbappe should be forced to sign for other clubs that he doesn't want to;
2. Apparently Shearer's record is "irrelevant" and "meaningless" (anyone who watched Shearer will know he fully deserved that record and it's something he mentions with pride quite a bit post-retirement)

... yet at the same time they'll refuse any sort of notion that the EPL could be considered a farmer's league.

I just grabbed this from Goal:

It genuinely wasn't a troll, just a thought that people were offended by. City are in an era of dominance right now and are short odds to win 4 titles on the bounce (any rational person would predict they come 1st this season). It's actually somewhat crazy to even predict another team wins the title this year - that in essence is the definition of a one-horse race, or "farmers league".
The same comments were being made about Serie A when Juve were dominating, Bundesliga when Bayern were undefeatable, and as above, Ligue 1 when PSG won it in 7 of 8 years.

The only difference between the PL now and those leagues then is that the top 6 are richer - but don't be fooled into thinking it actually makes a difference as to the competitiveness of the title race.

Shearer’s record is considered meaningless because it has an arbitrary cutoff point that no other top flight league does. he isn’t the holder of the all time top flight record, thats Jimmy Greaves

i hate calling those leagues farmers leagues or anything but the comparison is a bit superfluous, a lot of those leagues barely had any form of title challenge in some seasons and the champions have had far longer streaks than in the English league

PSG's longest streak was 4 years when that exact "farmers league" criticism was levelled at Ligue 1. City are about to go 4 in a row.

You cant change the definition when it suits you
