thank god he didn't sign for Arsenal - would have been a horrible signing all things considered, absolutely the last sort of signing they ought to be making

never really believed the rumours suggesting it was on the cards, but a bit of a relief nonetheless

Are you saying you don't get Coutinho?

Aren't they transitioning it to one of his cronies?
Yes. Nothing will change with him leaving. All the reports about Ralf wanting to have things his way where he has been are set to clash with the “running a club like a marketing business” approach.

Epic, Clive is blaming bad decisions on Var when it isn't even there, and Jenas agreeing.

The Greens made history with the first female referee in the FA Cup. I know cup matches aren't any portent of future league form, but we totally outplayed Birmingham for the most part. Expecting to draw Hartlepool away in Round 4.

Anyone watch a bit of Roma-Juventus, was super fun. Needed an immediate Mourinho reaction interview though.

A lot of chatter about Ronaldo dragging down United, but tonight no sign of them and play absolute shite v Villa.

No clue how they got through but it is what it is.

Strange game. It felt like Villa realised at around 70 minutes that they couldn’t actually be arsed with the cup this season and stopped trying to score.

He’s probably at his most effective if you setup a team around him like Portugal is more likely to do. United is not going to do that and the large low quality squad doesn’t really allow that. A squad that seems like it’s been randomly assembled across multiple managers with little thought to style or balance.

He's not good enough to eat up a team around nowadays. You can't play the pressing game Rangnick wants with him either, it's a glorious mess with no resolution I can see. Signing on Pogba for silly money, surely can't be Rangnick's decision, he's not going to help the new style of play.

Setting up a team to allow a declining player to pad his personal stats is a recipe for failure in team sports. It's why Juventus were happy to take a huge loss on him and get rid, and it's why Portugal have been crap for years, fluking a Euro win in 2016 not withstanding.
