I’m in favour of different tiers of European trophies but the mixing and matching seems a little bonkers. At least it doesn’t appear as though you can fall from the CL to the third tier cup.

I don't mind the sides dropping into the UECL too much but would like (although I know I'm in fantasy land) to see fewer teams from one nation in the Champions League - ironic I know after we scraped 4th just now. But ideally for English sides would like top 2+cup winner in UCL, 4th and 5th UEL, League Cup winner and 6th - UECL. Would give teams from weaker football economies more of a chance across all 3 European competitions and also make the UEL especially more respected - to use this season as an example as things stand you'd have Sevilla, Lyon, Marseille, Napoli, AC Milan, Chelsea and Leicester amongst the competitors at the group stage. Might help raise TV money for the UEL and help smaller clubs who qualify for these competitions. Would also mean midtable sides would have more of a go at the FA Cup and see winning the cup as more important in terms of team selection then finishing in 9th instead of 13th.

Monaco were 6pts clear with PSG 2nd ahead of Lille on goal difference.

I don't have an issue with 4 teams from the same country being in the competition. I have a problem with the top 4 automatically qualifying for the group stage.

Unless it is some strange quirk where the 4th placed team are the Champions League holders I fully agree. No nation should have 4 qualifiers automatically.

Not the best choice of words from me, but let's just say he has quite the temper.

But like I said, a good sense of humour. When he played at our place for Morecambe last, someone shouted 'Smile Ellison!' and he turned round and said 'I'm playing against Tranmere in Division 2, why would I smile?'

Delighted Brentford beat Bournemouth obviously, but even more so given the antics of Begovic after the Brentford penalty.

It's one (dire) thing to try and keep the ball after the opposition score imo, but to actually chase an opposition player who has the ball and is taking it back to the halfway line and basically try and rugby tackle it off him is just ridiculously pathetic.

He was taking so long over goal kicks in the first half that someone on Twitter called him ASMR Begovic. Laughed more than I should have.

He was pretty hilarious the entire game. Twice being fouled by his own player and being offside at the end were some other nice moments.

Saturday feels about 6 months away right now.

The ref really ought to have sent him off in all honesty. But the reaction would have been similar to the reaction to the Irish keeper who you brought up who was sent off for encroachment.
