Haha, might be a tough sell now but I still think Januzaj had more potential. He was definitely better for United than Gnabry was for Arsenal.

Dortmund cutting his loan short was a huge red flag. A spell there at that age is as clear a path to becoming world-class as you can possibly get. They really don't label young players unprofessional and bin them off very often.
Gnabry did show a ton of promise at Arsenal in that first season tbf. And Januzaj is also doing pretty well at Real Sociedad by all accounts. I think they were both clearly great young players, but I'd say Gnabry probably proved he had the higher ceiling due to being a better athlete.

Maybe, yeah. I don't remember having a strong opinion on Gnabry, but I did think Januzaj would be a lot better than he has been. He was pretty quick with crazy slick technique. Just never got his positional/pressing play up to scratch, so he was always looking nice without really hurting the opposition. If it weren't for the spell at Dortmund I'd blame our coaching, but I think he just lacked the application to work on it. If he'd played under a proper coach like Poch he'd probably have just gone down the Andros Townsend route.

The Salzburg fans seem decent but I could've done without my journey home taking half an hour longer than if they hadn't sat down in one of the busiest roads in Liverpool.

The highlight tonight was discovering Efan Ekoku was doing commentary on the Barca match. One of those cult 90s players I'd not thoughtof or heard mentioned for literally 20 years.

Find it funny when a country like Scotland manages to produce multiple quality players in a position as random as LB at the same time.

Just a word of warning, you need a strong stomach to see that Hugo Lloris injury. Looked horrible.

Shame for Poch its going to end in tears.

Arguably should have gone in the Summer, but will be interesting to see who replaces him and where he ends up.
