Matuidi was ****ing atrocious last season and over 30yo. Not that I don't think that's a bargain, but it's not that bad.

I really like Coleman, but nobody wants a 28 year old full back with a broken leg.

Like it's not a terrible squad, Pickford and Keane are decent signings so the defence should be better than last season. I just think losing Lukaku is a really big deal. Barkley too, wildly overrated but still one of their better players. I don't get where the consensus that they'll get better has come from. They'll need a season or two of consolidation and hoping one of their young players steps up a level.

I think Pickford and Keane could disprove that theory along with the young lads Davies and Lookman and as for nobody would want Gueye that is crazy as he is probably the best spoiler in the division after Kante.

Barkley is basically this generation's Rooney but without a decade of being great to actually earn any sort of reputation. Overrated doesn't even come close

He's not the worst guy to have around it they want to keep playing a back 3. Would be weird if they paid anything for him though.

Can't say I know but apparently Evans is actually quite good. We were linked with him last summer.

Yeah I mean he doesn't really deserve his reputation as a complete joker. He was good on the ball and happy to hold a high line so he helped us control games against weaker teams. You could tell why Ferguson liked him and I can see why he appeals to Pep. But he did constantly get exposed in big games, which is what everyone remembers.

I've actually come around a bit on the Evans thing. We only have two foreign spots left in the squad, which I'm sure the club intends to fill with signings. Evans always was underrated IMO (largely agree with Upper****) and Mangala is a big athletic guy with talent but has the touch of a bison. There's little wonder Pep isn't interested. Evans isn't ideal but solid an experienced, would mostly just be here to play when we want to rotate Vinny.

EDIT: The salt on bluemoon is amazing though, I went to bed about 30mins before the news broke and I woke up 7 hours later to a 131 page thread. Since then it's hit 211 pages. Nearly every post is "i'll burn my jerseys and seasoncard if we sign that rag ****" etc. Absolute gold.
