Leicester relegation would be the most fitting end to fairy tale - ESPN FC

Unbelievable stupidity. ESPN FC used to be pretty decent, what happened?
Yeah, it's a pretty poor piece. The whole argument doesn't really make any sense to me.

The most revered artists tend to be those who do brief, brilliant work and then (sadly on a human level) die.
My eye was drawn to this part in particular, and whilst this might be true in human terms, is this ever really the case for football teams?

Anyway, on the Allardyce thing, it probably is a bit of a mountain out of a molehill, but it certainly reflects pretty poorly on both parties.

Just further makes Allardyce look even more like the crook that everyone thinks/knows he is anyway, and the fact that they've hired someone who's been taped slagging them off further makes the FA look like a bunch of disreputable clowns.

Who do you English guys want to replace him?

I thought appointing old Walrus was scraping the barrel, it's going to be hilarious to see who they try to get.

The thing is for a lot of England fans it wasn't scraping the bottom of the barrel, it was actually the populous job, gawd help us. As I've said I'd be happy with Eddie Howe or Sean Dyche, really wouldn't mind Hoddle back either. Ass I say for me there are many I'd prefer to BFS.

It says a lot that I cared not a jot when he was appointed and I would care even less if he gets sacked now. Once the players start showing on the pitch they actually care I may too.

I imagine the salary of the England manager must be close to at least 5 million per year, you'd think someone as experienced as Allardyce would know better than to put everything on the line for 400K.

£3million he was on, the dirty B****n whopper.

I feel like Nigel Farage after the referendum; that is to say I have my country back

I still don't really get what he's done wrong from the Telegraph reporting. They've reported it as if he knew a way round 3rd party ownership when his point was just that although the FA don't allow it, it won't stop you signing a player.

Guy's a complete **** so it's still funny but he's been stitched up to an extent. And it's not as if the FA wouldn't have been aware of this aspect of his character, which calls their judgement into question.

I like and rate Eddie so I hope he doesn't get it. The job is poison, wouldn't wish it on him.

I presume there is more to come and that is why he has gone. Telegraph doing a week of stories so they are bound to have something big for later in the week which may involve BFS too.

Him claiming he knows how to routinely get around player ownership rules is pretty damning tbh. You can't very well have one of the most prominent FA representatives openly boasting about doing something that is categorically prohibited by the sport's major governing bodies.

That in itself was enough to make his position totally untenable.

He didn't do that though. 3rd party ownership is prohobited by FA rules, and the way you get round that is by signing the player outright.

Imagine a government minister telling reporters that UK tax rules were a joke and could be easily circumvented. It's basically an analogous situation.

Besides, buying a player that is third party owned outright is still (I presume, at least) breaking the rules. It's like buying stolen goods. It condones a forbidden act, and so it in itself is also forbidden.

Furball surely he brought his position and English football into disrepute? That's grounds for dismissal.
