*Official* English Football Season 2016-17

Tangles

International Vice-Captain
What I remember from the Leicester vs United match was how bad their midfield was. Kante leaving was a problem Ranieri was never going to be able to fix. You can't buy someone that good now for what the release was. I figured they would suffer but I didn't account for how much. Current evidence suggests that he was the difference between relegation and being Champions. I might have guessed a slip from 1st to 10th but not 17 places.

Anyone who thinks Ranieri didn't deserve the sack isn't living in the real world.
I think there are fans who would take a championship followed by relegation if it was offered. But I don't think owners would. The money drop is too big. Football is just business to many owners.

This is obviously true but it doesn't mean sacking him wasn't the right decision, it just means hiring him in the first place was the right decision. The title season is in the past now.

This isn't really true. Saw it mentioned on twitter than Vardy's average position was much further up the pitch than it has been, because he was staying on the last man even when Liverpool had the ball. Which is a small change, but it got them the first goal. Also might imply that he's working less hard, by not pressing.

I dunno. I can believe the story that they gave a less than enthusiastic response when the directors asked them about Ranieri last week. Which was probably the right thing to do. They're employees of the club, not Ranieri, so it wouldn't be right to pretend everything is fine just to protect Ranieri.

However, I don't really buy that they "weren't trying". I know it happens, but I don't think it happened here. You see their game against United, for example, where they scrap really hard for 40 minutes, concede one, then immediately concede two more. That to me doesn't look like a lack of effort, it looks like a psychological issue.
You're probably right. Screw you.

Got to love BT, who have driven up football TV rights by competing with Sky, complaining about rampant inflation in the TV rights marketplace.

Don't think we'll get another rant from Mourinho about reffing.

Honestly though, why did the ref just talk to Zlatan, I mean if he sees it, he's off. Mystifying stuff. mings has got to be banned too, disgraceful.

Ref has totally lost it, both should be off, although hopefully both get banned afterwards.

The lad who got sent off was a little unlucky also.

United's failings on show here, wasteful in front of goal and not a lot of class at the back bar De Gea.

I would say the Mings one was pretty hard to spot live, but yeah should throw the book at him retrospectively. Of Course the Zlatan one, the one that could effect the top 4 race.

No pity for United, referee was less awful towards them and Bournemouth missed a few cracking chances in the first half.
So wasteful in front of goal United and less said the better about Pogba especially in the last 10 minutes the better, 90 million for that? LOL.

Well it was fun, lets hope our friend Friend isn't demoted to the lower leagues.

One of those matches where both sets of supporters hate him. Always impressive.

BTW I actually think it was a pen, his arms were up, it stopped the ball from going back in the box, it's fair enough for me.

It's a bit harsh I suppose, and could easily have not been given.

**** the **** off, going from one point off autos to struggling for play-offs. Love jeff Stelling, but this is one time I don't want to see the Northern shortarse smiling, def penalty at 1-1 denied apparently, break away and 2-1 to the ****ing monkey hangers.
