*Official* English Football Season 2015-16

If I was Spurs, I wouldn't bother taking it seriously, they are qualifying for the champions league due to finishing top 4 and should be focusing all their attention on winning the Premier League.

Let the scrubs like Man Utd and Liverpool try to salvage their seasons with it instead:laugh:
They'll get into the CL if they win the Europa and tbh they really shouldn't not finish top 4 from where they are.

Its probably for the best United did not get out of the group stages, imagine this rubbish against Real or Barca:laugh:

Dominated by a Danish side who have not played for three months where the United keeper needed to perform heroics to keep the score down.

Shocking lack of respect for the coefficient from Manchester United. Napoli beat the stat nerds 9-1 on aggregate.

Surely Arsenal can't lose at Old Trafford next week. There's not even the chance of a dominant 0-1 loss with Rooney scoring the winner, because he's injured.

The worst one for me is feigning injury to waste time, which wouldn't be an issue if timekeeping in football wasn't a ****ing joke.
Yeah agree with this post and Furball's for the most part. Diving isn't great and everything but it's nothing in the "blight on the game" stakes compared to time wasting and generally playing for red cards with exaggerating off the ball contact etc. And frankly the time wasting issue is so easy to solve it's just completely absurd that it's been a problem forever. It's so easy to just... actually track the time the game is being played and stop the clock if there's an interruption. If someone is feigning an injury or taking a million years to complete a substitution it should have no impact at all on the result.

Yeah, but the whole feigning injury thing has a deeper impact than just time being wasted etc... It's not just a case of the clock being run down, it's a very effective way of breaking up the play and stopping the other team from getting any momentum/rythmn. Like when Tennis players start arguing with the umpire for no apparent reason. Stopping the clock as a means of combating the time-wasting issue is one thing, but it'd be a lot harder to find ways to counteract the other "gamesmanship" effects that go hand in hand with it.
