Basically them scoring one and putting all their men in the box for the rest of the game. What a ****ty game it'd be to lose on penalties.

Tbf can you blame them? A year ago they needed the same game plan to take us, the worst team in the football league, to penalties so it's understandable that they wouldn't exactly go all out.

We won the shootout ftr, but our manager was sacked less than a week later

Omens and all that...

Not blaming them...just saying that's what you call riding your luck. With all those shots you'd think there'd be some **** up or deflection eventually, but it got them to the penalties.

Yeah fair enough

Don't think it will be enough to save Brendan though from what various reporters have said today

Nah, he's gotta go on a bit of a winning streak to relieve some of the pressure. Although we hammered them, people won't care and will just point to the fact that we won it on penalties. The team does have problems, sure, but now any old excuse will do.

After Villa we have Everton and Tottenham away. It can get worse.

What I heard on the radio was that the Americans want him out whereas the board members over here want to give him more time. But the yanks are the ones with the real power

No idea how true. It was on talk sport which is the daily mail of sports radio but the journo was Beecroft who used to do local radio round here and generally knows what's going on

It's not often you learn anything by listening to Darren Gough, but he pulled out a bit of almost interesting Liverpool info. You have to go back 12 competitive games to find when they last scored more than one goal and back to February to find when they scored more than two in a League match.

I dunno, I get a sense it is more the fans and the media than the owners really. Doesn't make much sense to give him this season and a transfer window to let him go so soon. He could win the next 3 and the season turns on its head really.

It's probably because I'm getting old but even if I didn't have any faith in Rodgers this game-to-game bull**** of creating news and drama has worn on me. **** me, 6 games in and we still gotta hear about this ****. I'm tired of hearing about it. The ****ty thing about it is its lose-lose. If we beat Carlisle handily: it's just Carlisle. If we just beat them: why didn't we beat them handily? Nevermind drawing or even losing to such a team.

So United can go top later today. Title is done though isn't it?

Edit: Should probably clarify no one on here has really said that.

Spurs very good second half

Four of the five goals were offside I think. At least three anyway
