We broke their twenty game unbeaten run in League One the following season. Our push to go up with them was killed with two minutes of the season left.
Would seem like we've taken different paths since, though we were close to getting Vardy on loan from them in 2013 apparently

He really got a lot of nonsense in his first Chelsea spell, the tinkerman thing was beyond ridiculous, as it's what every teamdto now, and what Ferguson was doing at United at the same time.

Tbf some of his "tinkerings" in big games were decidedly questionable (I seem to remember Hasselbaink being played on the right wing in the Champions League semi final for some inexplicable reason), but on the whole yeah, the way he was treated in that whole thing left a really sour taste in the mouth. I was thinking the other day I remember going on www.saveclaudio.com when I was at school, and really hoping he wasn't fired.
He's had some shockers in the intervening period, but he's always struck me as a thoroughly decent (not to mention entertainin) bloke, who on the whole is probably pretty underrated as a manager. Great that after all the years since getting the boot at Chelsea he's been able to come back in and sweep home like this. WAG.

Except Leicester, ironically. Sky showed a statement that over the course of a season, the champions make an average of 95 changes to their starting XI. Leicester this season have made 27.

Obviously a massive achievement and the team will go down in footballing folklore but from a financial perspective, Leicester really needs to string together a couple more great seasons plus manage things incredibly well off the field for this to guarantee their long-term future
