As long as they're able to go after the right people. I'm not sure whether it would be beneficial to rake over the same things again just to nail some plod for a mistake. They need to go after the big guns, and it sounds from the Grauniad article like the main guy's already died. Plenty of others to go after though, it would seem. Particularly keen to see them nail the guys that covered everything up; given exceptional circumstances, people make mistakes - I can understand that. But to cover things up and blame the very people who were suffering as a result of your mistake, that's disgraceful.Hopefully jail time.
I'm not exactly sure what is covered by perjury and whether it strictly applies here, but those still alive cannot be seen to be getting away with lying during the original inquest. As long as they're able to go after the right people. Yeah, it's surprising how much things like this can really affect your enjoyment of a match or whatever, but they really can. If I could get it to sync up properly I would just mute the TV or whatever and put Radio 5 on. Or even better just have the crowd noise - I think Sky used to have this option but did away with it for some reason, presumably because they didn't want people to be able to skip out on the commentators plugging upcoming shows/matches etc...Yeah absolutely terrible. I'm thinking I might switch to Sky next time my contract ends. BT had the better package of games but the dire quality of coverage makes more of a difference than I thought it would.
Is it really surprising? Especially for us cricket fans who have to endure C9 etc, I thought it would be obvious how big a difference commentators/studio guys have on the experience.Yeah, it's surprising how much things like this can really affect your enjoyment of a match or whatever, but they really can. It's sort of remarkable how badly BT have screwed their coverage up though. It's not just that their pundits are not especially good; they're actively bad. It's crazy to think that there aren't some ex-pros out there they couldn't have got hold of who are at least semi-competent (though frankly the majority of the best football analysts etc... aren't ex-pros anyway imo), but I guess they just go for obvious names to cater to the mainstream pub idiots or something.
He doesn't commentate. I don't watch much build or afterwaffle but from what I've seen he's a pretty bad pundit.Scholes is bad too?
There's just never been anyone this bad on British tv very often since Ron Atkinson 'retired'. Mick McCarthy during world cups is the only one really. So before BT Sport we thought bad commentary meant Mark Lawrenson or Andy Townsend, who are still total idiots but not too hard to tune out.Is it really surprising?
