Personally, not sure Tottenham or many others mentioned are gonna be title challengers with these players or not. I think Pep will come in and make it necessary to get 90+ points or near it to challenge in this league (similar to what Mourinho did in 2005) and if you look at the table that isn't a huge pool of clubs.

Man City need a pretty massive rebuild and as much as I'm a huge fan of Guardiola as a coach his record in the transfer market actually leaves a lot to be desired.

Yeah, also that they keep getting better. Might be time to dig those papers saying Southampton lost the plot when they sacked Nigel Adkins for Pochettino.
Much more of this and he could well be the outstanding candidate to replace Hodgson at some point. Whether the FA would feel able to give the job to an Argentine is another matter, I suppose.

Agreed, also can they turn it round in one window?

Seems plenty of areas in their squad that look dodgy considering the money they have spent over the years.

Yeah so although many of my posts on him are embarrassingly wrong in hindsight, he did make a bunch of points-costing boobs in a season when we lost the title on goal difference. Since he's likely to go to RM for not much more than we paid, and we're currently shite in spite of him, I don't think it's actually all that clear that signing him was the best decision. Feels like a waste to buy players on potential and put up with their shite years if you can't hold onto them once they get good, although I guess we don't have much of an option now that we're sort of a second tier club.
Hadn't really thought about this, it's pretty safe to say that he cost the title that season. Strange way of looking at it I guess.

He'd be far too sensible to take it I suspect. Managing England is a massive step down from managing a top European club side.

Also wouldn't be too offended if we tried to bring Blanc back to OT, he'd certainly be a better fit than Jose IMO.
Blanc is at best a moderate achiever in a second-rate league, and he's only connected to United in ways that most of us would rather forget. It's unclear what he actually brings to the teams he coaches and he repeatedly gets absolutely spanked tactically in big knockout games, from Euro 2012 to Citeh last week. Of all the options that fans have seriously suggested I think he's probably the joint-second-worst alongside Mark Hughes, a step below Gary Neville although still just above Giggs.

Realistically Mourinho is the option most likely to bring success, but if we decide he's just too much of a dick we should at least go for someone entertaining like Bielsa or Sarri, possibly Favre. Obviously that's assuming the likes of Pochettino, Simeone or Tuchel wouldn't come. There are also a bunch of names that would be better than the ex-United gaggle of mediocrity but that I still wouldn't be delighted with- Allegri, Koeman, Rebrov, Pellegrini, etc.

Jan Kirchhoff said Germany won the world cup because of Pep and Klopp. Wonder if we could see similar effect with Poch and Klopp managing so many young England players. Similar style too.

First time in my time following football Tottenham will finish above Arsenal.

It's the thing with Spurs. Basically everyone involved with the team is really likeable, and I've always really appreciated their ability to not be Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, or Chelsea. But occasionally they drop a reminder of how shite their fans are. Guarantee they'll be getting booed off after two losses and a 0-0 draw next October.

Haha are Arsenal really candidates for the title though (assuming you were including them)? I'm not sure I can bring myself to believe.
Well I can see why but even if we ignore Arsenal we have got City, Spurs, Man Utd (with Mourinho, or just not Van Gaal), Chelsea and even Liverpool who could be genuine contenders, and that is not even including the likely defending champions.

City will be the obvious favourites and honestly I do expect them to win but as many have said it is not the easiest job in the world.
