The 65 free kick goals is enough of an argument. It's quite nuts really. In other words, STFU scaly

Heh, just wait until they blame the home fans for it.Orbinho works for Opta, so yeah it's true. We have highest in the league away though funnily, which shows a couple things.
Evidence enough when were agreeing on it!The 65 free kick goals is enough of an argument. It's quite nuts really.
Yeah del Piero went through a phase around about 1995/96 where he was amazing.Del Piero and Ronaldinho names that are probably worth throwing in the hat re: goals/attempts from freekicks ratio discussions, especially the former.
Stevie was pretty good but not in that class. It must be top 5 all-time or something. 65 goals is more goals than Iniesta has scored in his club career and not far off his total with internationals. If Charlie Adam was worth 10m just for his corners, wonder what Fergie thought Becks was worth.Evidence enough when were agreeing on it!
S'pose Gerrard wasn't that bad either (actually I think he's a pretty high conversion rate too IIRC)
Good point.Looked it up yesterday and Payet has scored two league free kicks in his last seven league seasons. It's not particularly rare for a player to hit 3 or 4 top bins in the space of a few weeks and for people to point out how much better their conversion rate is compared to Ronaldo and call them the best free kick taker in the world. At the start of the season it was Willian, which led to this ridiculous article - Chelsea's Willian is 38 times better at free-kicks than the rest of the Champions League COMBINED - Mirror Online - some time recently it was Pjanic, 15 years ago it was Zola, now it's Payet. Finishing is pretty fickle at the best of times, and it only gets worse from dead ball situations where the average set piece taker probably only has 15-20 shots a season. Unless you're comparing careers over a decade then it's a pretty bad way to judge free kick takers and you're better off just judging subjectively.
Tbf Payet might not have taken many, definitely not when he was in a team with Hazard. Bale suffering something similar at the moment, I'd have had him down as one of the best around.Looked it up yesterday and Payet has scored two league free kicks in his last seven league seasons. Yeah fair to an extent. Think he's only taken 35 (shots) in that time.Tbf Payet might not have taken many, definitely not when he was in a team with Hazard. Bale suffering something similar at the moment, I'd have had him down as one of the best around.
