This Mourinho stuff doesn't want to leave us alone, does it. Is Mendes trying to fund a bid to buy the club using our own money acquired through his extortionate fees?

Yeah, I'm happy we've dodged this kind of player. Just saying, the fees are ridiculous. Ramires, Mbia, Gervinho (apparently), Guarin...looks like China is gonna spend the big bucks.
Couple of strange things about the current spending spree

Firstly, Chinese are currently subject to very stringent foreign exchange controls as gov't literally does not want any money leaving the country

Can only assume that a senior party official is a football fan

Secondly, according to a recent doco I saw on Tim Cahill's experience in the country, the game is not yet a commercial success with average crowds and negligible tv revenue

It all does seem a little odd doesn't it. The dialogue of Mourinho being desperate for the job, but was black-balled when he himself said he would always choose chelsea over manu. The hatred of van gaal and partly Moyes based on their style of play, well jose would improve that. They almost seem to want a narrative that Jose is the only manager they can get, aided by the press that clearly love the drama he creates in the Prem.

Honestly? I know your just an uefa cup type mediocrity nowadays, but surely you can get an half-decent manager that can actually fit into your style of play of decades. Honestly think Pellegrini is a better manager for you.

If we can't pry Blanc from PSG, or Pochettino, then TBH we should give Giggs the job. Harsh to judge him on 4 games at the tail end of the Moyes era, without the chance to bring in his own players and staff, nor get the team really playing the way he wants. Most people around OT seem to think he's got the right mentality to handle the job (he's no stranger to performing under pressure, scored a couple of decent results in Ms Thomas, and the other Mrs Giggs...), he understands what the fans want and what the clubs about, has the respect of the dressing room and a name to bring in other players. Also Ferguson is on hand to help guide him, whilst being all too aware of the potential issues he could cause a la Busby. (Ferguson's spoke quite clearly on that regard, and has also said if Giggs retired 5 years earlier he'd have been assistant with an eye to taking over).

Either way, giving it a try is better than Mourinho brand of football, and the drama he brings.

I always said we should've gone for Ole when Fergie retired, I wouldn't hold his Cardiff stint against him, he seems to be re-establishing his reputation back home....

'Tis alright, when Pep leaves you after 2 seasons to chase more personal glory in the all star Chinese league, I'll remind you of this.

Yes, I am being somewhat facetious tbf. Mind you, the prospect of moving to China excites me more than the prospect of moving to Merseyside. Not that I am a professional footballer obviously, but still.
Most of the internet being blocked in China is a deal-breaker for me.

He will always get another job

It really depends upon whether the role is big enough for him to bother accepting
I would honestly be reluctant to touch him if I was a big club chairman. Plays crap football, his last two stints have been absolute car crashes and he isn't even that successful these days.

BARNES OUT
Pellegrini deserves to be sacked just for having so much faith in Demichelis. It worked out for the first season, somehow, but him still starting at this point is preposterous haha.

How bad has Sterling been in this game btw, absolute stinker.
