Souness was a magnificent bastard.
Obviously wasn't around then but there are plenty of Liverpool fans who think he was the best player we ever had - greater than Dalglish (although, I'd wager most think Kenny was better in that era). He was a beast of a midfielder and captain of the greatest Liverpool sides we ever had.

This isn't an argument against Best being better than Souness; but people forget he was basically done after his 9th season.

United's group is interesting. Think they'll qualify because two results would have to go against them but the head to head with PSV means they have to get more points than them.

I don't think they do - his early (and largely self-inflicted) decline is well documented. They just remember how incomparably good he was before then.

schneiderlin was abysmal tonight, some of his passing especially in the second half was horrific. Grim tactics of Rooney pinging crosses to Fellani for the last 30 minutes as well.

Dull match.

Just watched the link. Why was he not more impressed with himself after that? FFS man, if you score a goal like that at least have the decency to milk it.

CSKA at home should be easy for PSV. We're in huge trouble.

If Arsenal, Utd and Chelsea end up in the Europa Leauge it's surely in their best interests to go for it full on. For Chelsea it would be their best chance of making next year's Champions League, and for the others they need all the points on offer to protect the ever dwindling gap in the Co-efficient between England and Italy. The thought of only three places being on offer and two of Utd, City, Chelsea. Arsenal and Liverpool missing out every year should have the owners in a major panic.
