BARNES OUT
He definitely has a hand in them, especially in the first season where he got Demichelis, Negredo etc who'd all played with him before. I doubt he has full control but its still a huge issue.

I miss Lucas. :(

Terrific, entertaining first half though. Really could go either way.

I want to bang Hendo so much.

Yeah not going to disagree that whoever is largely responsible has not done a very good job.

Negredo was a strange one though, he looked great for a while, I know he got injured but still not quite sure what happened there. I am sure Bony is going to be good but feels like City have not made a really exciting signing for a long while, but neither have they moved on to buying cheaper but smarter ones.

Need more mathematical modelling obviously.

Stats are the answer, of course.

Word is that Negredo was severely homesick and basically begged to go back to Spain. Have no idea but sounds pretty plausible to me.

I honestly don't know who or what they should be signing/doing but they need to be doing something different in the market, because signing "the 10m player for 25-30m from a club that's not really that good" tactic doesn't seem to be working.

The lack of any urgency from City was absolutely bizarre. So amazing and so happyyyyyy

Happy enough for Chelsea to win this. League cup doesn't really mean anything for clubs of their stature but Tottenham might care that bit more.

That Henderson goal today was eerily similar to the one Pires scored at Anfield many many moons ago. Those were the days.

Also, obviously a Chelsea win is something can't ever really be celebrated, but at the same time I am delighted that Spurs did not win.

219 players played in the Premier League this weekend. Only seven of them covered more ground than Özil and only eight of them sprinted more. None of those 7 or 8 started in midweek while Özil had a similar work rate for 90 minutes on Wednesday.

This confirms my suspicion that people who call him lazy etc just don't like how he looks. Garry Neville basically admitted it on Wednesday as well.

So a premier league player who is a current England international has been arrested for underage ***, end of career if true I would imagine.
