So much better than the **** that Daniel Taylor wrote in the Observer last weekend.

Found myself going from being confused and just a little bit angry this time last week to vigorously defending my club in pub on Friday. Think I have made it pretty clear that as a fan I don't find stats in football particularly interesting and I don't think the stuff we see in public is all that useful but the sort of stuff that is talked about there is on a whole different level, and I am more than prepared to trust Benham. I certainly don't need to understand the stats to enjoy the results. It is a long way from Martin Allen.

Champions League being back on really is the best thing about this time of year. After a gruelling and thoroughly unsatisfactory day it's so gun to be able to come home, stick it on and think about things that are fairly inconsequential for a while.

Also, City already up against it. Rat Boy strikes again.
