Yeah the Emirates has copied a lot of the pubs around there, by setting prices so ridiculously high that most scumbags can't afford to get in.

I mean, they're definitely a nicer bunch than the fans of less posh clubs. There's no point pretending that the working classes now being priced out of games didn't contain a hell of a lot of aggro dickheads. But you also get a bit of a dud atmosphere, and a ridiculously over-the-top disapproval of tackling that IMO is taking the game in a much more boring direction. I think the fans of most clubs will go the same way and can't really tell whether that's a good thing or not.

Good for the lower leagues perhaps

Hmmm who to root for tonight

in Warrington's favour:
local so would be nice to draw them if we both progressed
They didn't sabotage our season
grecian doesn't support them

In Exeter's favour:
Warrington is a wooly back ****hole
Many of my favourite childhood memories occurred in Cornwall
i like Neil Pickup

The football seems to have many of the qualities shared by ones you'd buy from Poundland to play on the beach with a 4 year old.

This is Exeter. Not surprised by anything so far.

Yet coming up with only 2 minutes injury time, which he blew on the whistle. Just a joke, but happens all the time in the lower Leagues, their 'keeper had treatment for about that long.

How the 100s of coms see Cummins thick deflection for the goal for ages just was astounding though, even blaming our 'keeper.

You lot still in the JPT Grecian?

I learned the other day that the FL mandates that six players from your previous match have to play in it. Only exception is if you have six of your eleven players with the most appearances from the season to date

Yeah I remember that rule from last season, I have a feeling that we took someone off after twenty minutes or so.

On the whole atmosphere thing. I love going to football so much at the moment because I am watching a great deal higher quality stuff than I used to, with much larger crowds but in the same place that I have always watched it, the atmosphere just comes from being cramped into that old terrace. I don't think Bees fans are particularly loud but the atmosphere has been brilliant at quite a few games this and last season. Put those same people in a comfortable modern stadium and it will be gone. As much as I love the direction we are going part of me fears that there will be nothing left of the old Brentford when we move, GP is the link to the Brentford I have always known, seeing it full every single week is something I have really got to appreciate while it lasts.

Don't Brumbers, I'm ready for full rant mode, but I'm too depressed to do it, ATM.

Just to say **** the magic of the ****ing cup.
It's an odd equation isn't it?

Lousy pitch + uninspired performance + fortune favouring the untalented = the magic of the cup

I remember my lot going out to Welling, Bishop's Stortford, Wealdstone and Maidstone in years gone by, but at least there was sometimes a bit of real magic - can't remember which of them he played for but a bloke called Mark Gall won one of them on his own, and when Bishop's Stortford came to Elm Park and won a young Ian Dowie looked truly magical

Still not ready to talk about the match.

Yes, Gall and Butler caused us a lot of trouble in the cup in 89/90. We were in the same division though. Classic cup-tie the replay, 2-1 down wirth about 10 minutes to play in the pouring rain and Rowbotham scored twice to sneak it 3-2. Bryan Robson did a similar turn around from 1-0 down to 2-1 up for England that night. I only mention it because I had a ridiculous amount of money on the double, and I was not happy with the bet at one point, to put it mildly.

Oddly we've played Maidstone 5 times, all in that season. Another oddity to keep my mind off last night, was we played Dartford that season in the first round, on the same ground we were to play Maidstone on in the second round.

Wouldn't want to lose this one then, Rodgers.

Will just get this out-of-the-way early doors then - Johnson.

Om nom nom. Still the earliest of days!

I do like it when stack the side with centre-mids.

Johnson actually been surprisingly good so far. :)

Gerrard a passenger (Lucas needed), Henderson poor (bring on Lallana) and Lovren clueless (why was Kolo not retained?).

We'll be lucky to take a point at present. Just so disjointed. Back to basics dammit lads.
