What's that saying about you becoming the person you hate as you grow older?

Well, I'm thinking of being a steward at Exeter's next match. I hate Stewards they're a bunch of little Hitlers with the personality and looks of a sick dog turd. In general of course.

Yet in the end, it's a struggle to get people to go to the match nowadays, they all have lives and things, something I've obviously not. I arrange it, then they pull out for some trivial reason like their children going into hospital. Inconsiderate bastards. I can't be arsed to try much anymore.

So, get in and getting paid rather than wasting money on another hopeless home performance is tempting. Yet it still doesn't fit well.

Anyone done it, is it as ghastly as it seems it would be?

Every steward I've come across has usually been a fan and too busy watching the match to care. Others make the occasional 'sit down' comment to overly excitable fans. One of my dads friends is a chief steward at Utd, and he's says the footie is easy money. When the Rugby League is on however....

Worst telling off I ever got was at Morecambe for standing (in the balcony of the executive boxes), as I was blocking the TV camera. Pointing out I was doing any viewers a favour didn't go down well - In the end I went back inside the box and watched Soccer Saturday.

Well, telling people to sit down won't happen from me. We've had some wankers that have told people off for putting one foot on a yellow foot-path. obviously safety hazard.

Away there's a lot of tossers, mainly because City fans tend not to sit, it's in our DNA ffs we stand at home.

I don't think I'll be a very strict steward unless they're wearing a Prem team shirt, then I may find a reason to bung 'em out.

The whole standing thing is one of the biggest issues about the new stadium for me, the club is all for safe standing but there is no way that is going to get approved in the next couple of years.

Going back to the goalkeeper debate the BBC online poll today is who is the best goalkeeper in the Premier League with Courtois, De Gea and Hart as the vote options. Will be interesting to see the end result of that.

I'd love for a club to just say "**** you, we're allowing it" and throwing down the gauntlet to the FA/Premier League/Football League.

Is safe standing not actually kind of safer than seats? People stand up at times anyway, at least with safe standing there's a rail in front of you to hold on to.

Not sure how Janmaat or Sissoko stayed on. But anyways - still not good enough from us.

Neither of those challenges were even close to being reds. Liverpool were terrible but it's a bit unlucky to run into Newcastle in one of their rare spells of giving a ****. Really good performance from them, completely out-fought Liverpool.

The whole game was **** but yer scousers were very poor

Balotelli bandwagon has got old though. Twitter jumping all over him and as if he was the problem with them today.

No coincidence that Ryan Taylor's return to fitness has inspired his team mates anyway

And **** it. More importantly. Statue of John King unveiled today. Really ****ing wish I could have been there, saddening to see the man in a wheelchair but great to see him there in his old TRFC blazer. Hope he gets to see a ****ing win. SWA
