Actually I've wanted them to win a few times this season, and they still haven't. WAC of a club.

Random question and scenario. I recently learned that next seasons Europa League winners get a CL place. So, scenario

1. City
2. Liverpool
3. Arsenal
4. Everton
5. Chavs
6. Spurs
7. Man U

CL winners - Chavs
Europa winners - Man U

In this scenario am I right in thinking Arsenal would miss out on a CL place? Have just plonked the teams randomly really just for the purpose of the example

I thought that if Europa League side wins it then a nation could get 5 teams into it but that may be total balls. Would lose a slot from top 4 if side won Champions League and finished 5th though.

Still horrible news for an Arsenal fan. It was bad enough when we almost didn't qualify because Chelsea fluked the Champions League. Now the possibility of a similar scenario is double.

Apparently runners up qualify if the winners are in the CL but not if they are in the Europa, for reasons I don't understand. So if Arse finish 5th and win the Cup, 7th place get into Europe.

Furball - clearly I said the teams were just for example so my scenario isn't redundant.

I love this Man Utd team so much.

The only downside is that so many of their players will inevitably be picked for England this summer.

When you see them outplayed by a side that you know won't be involved in the title race next season it hits you how big a job they have at rebuilding the club. Probably need 10 players to even have a chance of challenging next season.

The competition is fierce but I think that was probably our worst performance of the season.

The only upside is that so many of our players will inevitably be picked for England this summer.

Isn't this what Ferguson said about Liverpool in his book?

If they got themselves a top coach they'd be right back into it, IMO. One or two good signings and they'd be proper challengers.
