*Official* English Football Season 2013-14

Ramsey has been better than Toure in the matches he's played but since Toure's played more he's had a greater impact over the season. Not too late for Ramsey to pull it back mind, especially if Toure's season is now over.

I'm not even sure. Maybe if he'd kept his insane form up for the full season it'd have been close. I just think if you asked fans of other clubs, 100 out of 100 would rather have Toure, and this has probably been his best season.

Well, you'd rather have Toure because he's shown his worth over a longer period, but that's not relevant for team of the season. Ramsey's scored more non penalty goals per match, got one more assist despite playing less and has made twice as many tackles and interceptions per game. I'm not really sure what more you'd want.

That's not really what matters though, is it? If he had stayed fit and kept up his ridiculous form we'd now be talking about which of them turned up in the big games or scored goals at important times or kept their team in the title race. It'd have been close and we can't say much more than that.

Begs the question why you picked Aguero then?

Either you pick a side from who played better in the games they actually played, in which case I do think Ramsey was better than Yaya, who has his weaknesses. Or you pick a side on overall contribution, in which case Yaya gets in no problems at all, but Sturridge is miles ahead of Aguero. I went for the former obviously hence I would have Ramsey and Aguero but both are valid positions. Aguero though seems like having your cake and eating it given this post.

He's not got it. Did more or less nothing when he came on yesterday. Apart from give the ball away and make loads of runs to the back post (again).
Haha, there's so many times where he's looked in a prime position to score but then the defender gets in to intercept. Because he's run to the wrong ****ing post.

It's a shame he didn't stay fit, Arsenal have missed him an incredible amount.

I really hate stuff like that. It's not an indicator of a lack of ability, but it's an indicator that he's not got a very sharp footballing mind, which could otherwise make up for the fact that he's not the most talented. It's because of stuff like this that he'll always be a step behind the best (or even most decent) defenders. So frustrating.

Honestly I probably would take Sturridge. Was just posting that team on the fly.

TBF, Silva's missed a lot of the season as well. Wouldn't get in the side for me, Coutinho or Lallana for me.

I'd go

Mingolet
Coleman
Azpiceleta
Cahill
Mertesacker
Henderson
Toure
Coutinho
Hazard
Aguero
Suarez

A kind of diamond formation, with the prong Aguero, Hazard and Suarez just behind them.

Eds

International Debutant
Marshall; Coleman, Jagielka, Cahill, Shaw; Gerrard, Toure; Silva, Hazard; Suarez, Sturridge.

Found it difficult to rate the LB, the rest were fairly straight forward aside from Sturridge/Aguero. Azpi one of the league's best defensive FBs this season but he doesn't offer much going forward when he's on the left.

It's amazing what the 5-1 debacle at Anfield has meant for both clubs. Kicked off a 10 straight winning sequence for Liverpool whereas Arsenal have taken just 9 points from their 8 games since.

You think so? Didn't seem like it to me. Most of the team wouldn't even have a clue of the significance of it, half of them probably don't even speak ****ing English. It probably meant a lot to Gerrard and some of the English players. They celebrated like they just won a cup final though, which is a bit ridiculous, and not the way you'd celebrate the deaths of so many IMO. Anyway. If they literally draw one of their last four games we can still win out and finish ahead of them. They still have to play Chelsea who every seemed to think were title certainties barely a month ago.

Demichelis was ten times the player Kompany was today. Couldn't count the amount of times Kompany was caught at halfway trying to play a hero pass while Liverpool were breaking. So sick of the hype.

EDIT: missed Gerrards interview, turned off my TV in disgust. What did he say?
While I agree I don't think the celebrations had anything to do with Hillsborough (Gerrard aside), I think they're justified. Particularly when you hear Gerrard's and Rodgers' comments post-game. They know there's a lot to come, but City are seen as our biggest threat, so to beat them is obviously ha-uge. Four Cup Finals left! :)

Stevie almost had me in tears. Want him to win it so bad.

EDIT: Haha, and they all speak English (although Sakho is not very fluent).
