Not watched him regularly enough to comment on how good he is these days, but he was top drawer when he was at his best for Liverpool.

He's been pish for years. Still looks good for Spain because he's got the Barca boys around about him to keep the ball off the opposition but he's never once had a good clasico since he joined.

He's almost exactly the player Paul Scholes was for the last few years of his career. Great at what he does but if Khedira was fit I don't think he'd be playing games like these.
PSG needed to provide more of a goal threat. 90 minute shut-out wasn't really on.

Nah, he's still quality. Real were stuttering early on in the season until Alonso returned from injury. He's really important to how they play.
In general though, Alonso has become a bit overrated after his final year at Liverpool. A great player, but pretty limited.

Yep this is bad news.Chelsea to be tired for their game at Anfield then.
Was silly by PSG though, as sledger said. They just didn't really do anything. Then with a few minutes to go they just sat back a ridiculous extent and let Chelsea pump the ball into their box as they pleased. All they had to do at that point was carry on as they had been after they weathered the storm at the start of the second half when Chelsea created nothing for about half an hour. I was watching the game with a mate and as it was we both called Chelsea to get at least one more big chance about a minute before they scored the second.

Also when did they stop doing the CL quarter final and semi final draw together? It always used to be they drew the whole remainder of the bracket when they drew the quarters. I didn't notice they hadn't done it this year because when I heard we had drawn Bayern I didn't bother checking who we would play in the semis. This is the first time we've made the quarters since we last made the final and they definitely did the quarters and semis together then.
Nuh, Matic and Salah don't play CL and our squad depth is quite good.Chelsea to be tired for their game at Anfield then.

You just know Barcelona will get through. Atletico hit woodwork three times already. Might be winning but could be a horrible night for them wondering what if like Dortmund last night.
