Super game, that. One Arsenal were probably fortunate to win, but a good performance on the whole nonetheless.

Important we didn't cave after last Sat's debacle, so a good result in context of our season, even if it was somewhat spawny.

Thought that one was win tbh. Great game form Fabianski though. Terrific.
To be fair to the bloke, he's actually looked pretty solid on the last few times he's played. It's just unfortunate that he only plays about 3-4 games a season, and everyone in the media tends to, perhaps understandably, remember his days of being mega crap.

Was excellent today on the whole, but that last incident was really dire. Think my heart stopped for a moment.

It's undeniable that there was an element of good fortune about today. But, on the other hand, I think on the whole it was a decent performance given some of the recent displays and quite a few changes being made today.

Despite the defensive horribleness early on the team defended pretty well throughout. Suarez was kept relatively quiet, and for the most part was restricted to taking snap shots from tight angles and the outside the box. Won't face a team with that sort of attacking threat many more times this season etc...

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger on Chelsea rival Jose Mourinho calling him a "specialist in failure": "I do not want to go into that - those were silly, disrespectful remarks. I never spoke about him in my press conference. I know one thing, it is more embarrassing for Chelsea than it is for me."
 WAG.

Bloody hell. Another suicidal challenge. Webb bottled it big time.
I'm still mystified as to how it wasn't a penalty.

Webb should be demoted for that alone; he has absolutely no excuses for not giving it. The worst piece of refereeing I've seen since the 2010 World Cup final.

Feel like having a whinge, but can't fire myself up enough, probably because deep down all I care about is fourth place.

I'm also starting to like Arsenal a bit. :/

The whole 'reputation before him' thing doesn't even work given he'd just given a foul on Suarez. But it's pretty common for refs to bottle giving a side two penalties in a game, especially 5 minutes apart

Funny when Ox said his heart wasn't in his mouth. Yeah ok mate

Was a cracking game tbh, no coincidence that the two best games to watch this round involved the best four sides in the country.

Yeah that exact thing happened in a Spanish game yesterday, Sevilla should have had 5 penalties and that Is no exaggeration but he only gave one. One of the not given ones was a Senderos one, what the hell Valencia bought him for I have no idea.

No idea why sides keep buying him to be honest, he's repeatedly proven himself to be a disaster waiting to happen.

As much as he's a whinging tit, Rodgers and Liverpool should be sticking in a formal complaint. It's not as if Webb can come out and say 'my view was blocked' or 'I didn't quite see the incident' - he had a perfect view, saw Ox bring Suarez down and for reasons best known to him, ignored it.

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps he was put off by Suarez's reaction to being taken out being pretty over the top. Reminded me of the way the Rock used to react to being on the receiving end of a Stone Cold Stunner.

Still a terrible decision though obvs.

I guess you could maybe make a case that it looked kind of like Suarez had run into him. But that's giving Webb far too much benefit of the doubt.

He just bottled it, didn't fancy giving two penalties to the away side's notorious diver in the space of five minutes. Just like he bottled sending off a high-profile English international a few minutes later. They're both bog-standard bottle spots for refs who love bottling decisions.
