Just re Cahill, it makes me smile that when we offered £6m for him in the close season Coyle was saying it was an insult to Notlob, the player and the ickle baby Jebus and now they've accepted £7m for him. Hmm.

Both figures too much. Miquel will be so much better giving time, and Cahill would have only hindered that.

Must admit I don't hate Cahill as a player, but with Koscielny now doing a fair impression of a competent professional, we're probably good for centre halves.

Wouldn't mind a full-back or two tho. Seen us linked with a loan move for Bridge, which could help both parties. If Captain Racist gets a ban he might yet be up for an England recall.

Gerrard looks like he's carrying a lot of excess timber still.

Can't be often Adam's subbed off for someone even fatter.

Lol Carroll. Has the first touch of a nervous virgin. How much more space does he want?
His Newcastle replacement, meanwhile, almost conjures up a little bit of brilliance the first time they've managed to get the ball anywhere near him.

Gerrard still looks a class above.

Thought his goal was a bit lucky; took about 17 touches to get it under control. Good finish though.

Not exactly a good game. Neither team looked much good at all. Liverpool only became remotely threatening after Gerrard came on as he was the only player they had who could cross the ball and make decent runs. Downing once again showing his ineptitude on various occasions.

Also how crap is Obertan? I've not really seen much of him recently, but he was really hopeless. Seemed to be obsessed with playing all of his passes with the outside of his foot as well. A sign of style over substance imo.

Ahh well, I enjoyed it, compared to the ****e we've been having. Gerard was a joke motm award, bellamy had to get it, I thoughtC arroll had an alright second half. Joe Cole is a nice lad but not a summarizer. Hazard will be a great though.

Obertans not been too bad for them, set up a few for Ba, those Geordies without ABU blinkers on seem to suggest he's doing alright for them.

So happy with those three points. Bellamy was immense, one of the signings of the summer. Gerrard, I love you, man. I thought Spearing played his role well, bodes well while Lucas is out.

Now for QPR to get up tonight. Looking forward to Barton vs Gervinho: Round Deux.

Excited to see Henry back for Arsenal. Where will he fit into your system though? Or will he start on the bench/be a straight swap for RvP to give him an occasional rest?

Will be used as an impact sub I should have thought. Probably will probably operate as an inside forward which drifts in from the left like the days of old. In the same way that Arshavin does totally ineffectively these days. Doubt he'll be played up front by himself though, barring Van Persie picking up an injury anyway.

Where the hell is Park Chu-Young though?! Has he totally been forgotten? He STILL hasn't made a premiership appearance, and I'm wondering why...
